About this deal

While the Jx will be more than enough for most people, the K-Max is for the coffee geek who wants an end-game model. K-Max just offers a bit more balance and precision in terms of flavors. Especially when it comes to lighter roasts. So what about the Q2? The Q2 is a portable grinder which produces great grind consistency in the pour-over range. The Q2 can, and will, produce espresso fine grinds to a high standard. It is the entry level model in the range that tries to fit the bill for everybody, and it fits pour-overs more than espresso. First of all, the burrs that the Q2 possesses are very sharp. Wait, doesn’t that mean you’ll get a lot of finer grinds? That’s true, and that’s probably why Mini Q is the ideal grinder for Aeropress and Pour-overs.

Like other small manual coffee grinders, the Q2 body can fit inside the tube of an Aeropress. You’ll need to store the handle outside of it, but since the Aeropress is plastic it will protect the Q2 body from damage. Performance At the moment, the company only produces hand grinders and a single manual espresso maker. This narrow focus is good; it means that the company can innovate and improve, rather than just copying last years fashion. Likewise, the 1Zpressp ZP6 was another brew-focused model that produced very few fines. It produced a clean, crisp cup of coffee almost comparable to SSP unimodal burrs. Another superb model that has unfortunately been discontinued. While we can look at the statistics above, this says nothing about the actual burr design. Looking at the above figures, we may assume that because the JE has such a large gap range with a broader adjustment, it must be a pour-over focussed grinder. But this is not the case, the burr set in the JE is designed for espresso in that the consistency is maximised in the espresso range and the coating allows for a more robust burr set that can grind fine over and over again with minimal degradation - as opposed to a non-coated burr set.The antistatic plastic of the grounds bin is made out of a very soft kind of plastic. Within a year the screw thread had gotten so loose that the jar would no longer fit.

Instead, we will concentrate on the most popular and representative grinder in each series to determine which offers the combination of characteristics and features most appropriate for you. Like the other models from the brand, The Q2 has an aluminum unibody with no room for misalignment, while the shaft and burrs are made of stainless steel. I have used the Hario Mini-Slim extensively over the last couple of years and used to see it as an attractive budget option.Pro-tip: Both the Porlex Mini and the 1Zpresso Mini Q actually fit inside an Aeropress which makes them ideal for travel travel! They don’t develop any heat while grinding The J Max has a few premium features that the other J-Series grinders don’t have. Like the other grinders, it is well-built with an ergonomic design and a longer handle that is easier to rotate. It also has an anti-static burr cap which helps reduce static and thus coffee retention. The grinder comes with a magnetic catch cup which is easy to attach and detach, improving workflow. Finally, the J Max also comes with a travel case, cleaning brush, and air blower. All of these little features make everyday use simpler and a more pleasing experience. On the center of the body, you’ll also notice an anti-slip grip made of leather with the 1Zpresso logo on it. This grip is also available in several color choices. The hopper and the catcher cup capacity is 20 grams, which I believe is enough for making a nice cup of coffee. Thanks to the item’s well-machined threads, unscrewing various parts of the grinder is also a breeze. There’s almost no resistance at all when grinding. The Mini Q contains a dial that you’ll see once you remove the catcher cup. It’s basically used to change the grind size.
