Regardless of performance, however, a three-year product cycle might suggest that putters remain a bit of an afterthought for Wilson. Nevertheless, the Infinites are getting a makeover. The grip includes an oversize design construction to provide a stable feel and limits rotation during stroke. The heavy grip (104 grams) helps create the counter-balanced putter feel. First off, the Infinite line is a tad more, uh, finite – whittled down by a couple of models to just three blades and three mallets. A trademark of the Infinite line, each putter carries the name of a Chicago street, neighborhood or landmark.Many golfers still hold these to be self-evident truths, completely disregarding data that suggests otherwise. And many more will say the putter itself doesn’t matter because putting success lies solely with the person holding the putter, which essentially creates a circulator argument feeding the fundamentally flawed assertion listed above. These classic head shapes have been updated by Wilson Staff in two important ways. First, the head weight of these putters is either 355 or 365 grams, depending on the model. Each putter comes with a 104 gram grip which moves the balance point closer to the hands. I enjoyed using the Lake Shore because I felt the counter balancing was noticeable but not overdone. I felt a little extra heft in my hands, but I didn’t feel like I was swinging a sledge hammer. Additionally, I like the fact players who don’t want the counter balancing can simply change the grip to get a traditional feel. The Infinite range of putters from Wilson Staff is their main line up and consists of models suited to every putting stroke out there.
