The trial for Ryan Duke, the man charged with killing Grinstead, was scheduled to start on April 1, 2019. Bo and Ryan confessed cremating Tara's body to the ashes. Despite pieces of a human skull and other bones being found on the pecan orchard indicated by them, no DNA was recovered due to the extensive damage by the fire. The suit also names Calkins as being responsible for the death of Felipe Santos, another man who went missing after last being seen in his custody in October 2003, just a few months before Terrance Williams disappeared.
