That said, it was a pretty enticing thriller. In spite of the fact that it was quite cookie-cutter, it kept my interest until the ending, which—although predictable—was still quite entertaining. I happened to guess correctly early on as to which direction the author was going to go so that was slightly disappointing but the story as a whole was compelling and without a doubt worth my time. Really enjoyed the structure of inserting the police interviews and the chapters that described before her accident. The chapters were labeled as a countdown to her son, Jamie's eighth birthday. There is some tension, some suspense and an emotional aspect that was thought provoking.For the next few hours, Izuku was subjected to all amounts of torture. Hoping it would activate the quirks that his father had placed in him, from the simple burning of the skin using his fire quirk to inviting strangers into their home wherein they will spar with him.
