About this deal

Firstly, thank you so much Paula for this ebook in exchange for an honest review on your debut novel. This is one book that you must pay close attention to, to follow both the storyline and clues, as there exists a parallel story between Liza, the protagonist, a novelist and her fictional character, Beth in her novel.

I think the author does have an ability to write; I’m not sure if she rushed this book, got carried away with a silly idea or just didn’t care (especially towards the end), but if she is going to write any more books she really needs to take her time on it and think about the plot, style and the characters. This strikes me as a first draft based on a runaway idea that got out of hand and she didn’t know when to stop with the ridiculous plot! Meghan's explosive secret comes to light. With Meghan's due date brought forward, Agatha must step up her plans.Using her writing as an escape from all of life's stresses at the moment Liza throws herself into her book and her new character, Beth. Beth is a new mom who has been home alone caring for her newborn while her husband claims to be working all kinds of hours at his job. Out on a walk one day Beth decides to drop in on her husband at work and instead sees him at a nearby restaurant with another woman. I am so glad to have read my first book by Cate Holahan. I would certainly recommend this one if you are looking for a captivating, dark and twisty psychological thriller. LIES SHE TOLD alternates between Lisa's real life struggles at home and the volatile story developing in her current work of fiction... AND...just to make matters even more complex, Cate Holahan weaves in a few surprises and some long buried childhood memories to reek further havoc on Lisa's already erratic state of mind making for one crazy good read! A scarring trauma in Agatha's past is revealed. Meghan heads to the hospital to have her baby, unaware that she might be in danger.

You're not going to steal from me again are you?" I whispered to her continuing to pound into her from behind. Hard and rough, I was showing her no mercy whatsoever if you couldn't already tell. This was such a well-crafted, amazing suspenseful story! I love unreliable main characters, and Liza definitely qualifies as one. While she's on her hormones (from trying to get pregnant) she suffers from some memory loss, which makes her the perfect unreliable narrator. I love the way Beth's thoughts (her character) would sometimes sneak into Liza's subconscious. I also really love books that follow writers/authors, because I find them so interesting and relatable and I love reading their thoughts on what it's like to be a writer. I don’t know whether it’s because I read so many thrillers or I have a habit of constantly guessing but apart from one of the reveals, I guessed the rest of them. 🙈

Are you a fan of the unreliable narrator? Well in this book you get not only one but two very unreliable narrators! Definitely would recommend this to fans of the psychological thriller.... was it the best I’ve ever read? no, but it was pretty darn good! The story within a story character Beth has a newborn daughter, Victoria. Beth’s husband Jake is an attorney, and Beth suspects him of having an affair, catching him eating dinner in a restaurant with a female police officer, and it’s clearly not business. This book will have your head spinning out of control. Pay close attention to the detail, or you will miss out.

The only thing I could do was cry, I couldn't talk, I couldn't move. I couldn't do anything. I didn't want to die, I was just thinking of my future but somehow I'm here, The first half of the book rotates chapters. One is Liza .... the things she is going through. The next chapter would be the story she is writing about 'Beth'. It's like trying to read two books at the same time. The first half is a little slow ... no mystery, no suspense. But then it changes..... Cate Holahan did a great job writing this one - two great stories combined into one! A fantastic read that was suspenseful and full of twists. Looking forward to reading more of her books very soon. Recommended! years, but I'm not entirely sure you could call it dating as they have never met, he ghosts her when he feels like it, expecting her to wait around....but the final blow is, he is now newly married to Lauren.

I don't regret my decision because they were piece's of shits and they gave my siblings no credit whatsoever for what WE wrote.EPISODESThe Secrets She Keeps Season 2 Premiere Tuesday 2 August on RTE One". memorabletv . Retrieved 2 August 2022. I still have no power and the heat is still awful but, alas, reading brings a wonderful escape in these difficult moments. I was really impressed with this book. The author kindly sent me a copy herself and I'm so glad she did as I would definitely read more of her work in the future. Karly has been waiting years to finally have the man of her dreams to herself, and when his wife is away on a girls' holiday, Karly takes her opportunity to get the wife out of the picture. But little does Karly know, things may not all be as they seem and someone is bound to pay a price. I love how descriptive the author is with everything. Everything was so clearly painted in my mind, I felt like I was in the room with the characters at points.
