About this deal

I kind of don’t know where to start! This book is a mind bender; you are never really sure what is going on. So is Elanor possessed or psychotic? It is one of those books where you need to read it yourself and make up your own mind. I will say that my opinion swayed several times during the book and even now that I have hung my hat on one theory, I don’t think it would take much argument to persuade me differently. I'm going to discuss the plot in depth, but the nothing more than what the synopsis already tells us, though it might be slightly spoilery, it won't be enough to hide the review. Quotations subject to change as this is an uncorrected copy from Netgalley. I finished this a few of days ago, and I'm still struggling to figure out how to explain this book. Here goes nothing. A visit to her nearest theatre changes her life forever; a blonde stranger translates the French film for her but disappears afterwards. Unable to forget this guy, a chance encounter causes their paths to cross again. Tessa and Skylar's worlds revolve around each other, they have the perfect Summer love until a tragic event happens. INTERVIEW: Stay tuned for my upcoming #AuthorElevatorSeries Interview on Feb 11 with Marc, where we go behind the scenes of the book, movie, and this exciting author, screenwriter, and producer. It is one of my favorite interviews. EPIC!

Tessa, at first, does not understand, but strange things start occurring. She wants to know more. Is Skylar trying to communicate or reach out to her? Is there a message? Coop and Jess aren't very likeable in the beginning of The In-Between. The family dynamic is a hard one. It makes the kids bitter and they don't get along. Jess has diabetes which I did appreciate seeing here. The characters (and their friends) go through a lot of development in The In-Between, and I wound up loving them all by the end. Cooper is lost. Ever since his father left their family three years ago, he has become distant from his friends, constantly annoyed by his little sister, Jess, and completely fed up with the pale, creepy rich girl who moved in next door and won’t stop staring at him. So when Cooper learns of an unsolved mystery his sister has discovered online, he welcomes the distraction.

The author writes impressively with topics of ADC, photography, medical, and writing from a teen's point of view. Passionate advocate for end-of-life care and TikTok star Hadley Vlahos shares moving stories of joy, wisdom, and redemption from her patients’ final moments in this “brilliant” (Zibby Owens, Good Morning America ) memoir.

Tender and transformative . . . it makes dying feel like a peaceful, dynamic, and nourishing event Christie Tate, author of 'Group' Vlahos’scompassionate, beautifully written book contains profound wisdom. It is for anyone with an open heart who loves a good story and anyone who fears but would like to better understand hospice and the end of life.” —Katy Butler, New York Times bestselling author of The Art of Dying Well The In-Between" is a book that imparts wisdom and deepens our understanding of the human experience. It reminds us to approach life with empathy, compassion, and a willingness to embrace the moments that often go unnoticed or overlooked. Vlahos' writing serves as a poignant reminder of the beauty and significance that can be found in the simplest of encounters.Cooper is lost. Ever since his father left their family three years ago, he has become distant from his friends, constantly annoyed by his little sister, Jess, and completely fed up with the pale, creepy rich girl who moved in next door, who won’t stop staring at him. There is a dinner party scene in The In-Between that is so monstrously awkward and gloriously well-observed, it could be a one-act play – a study in the quiet tyranny of consensus. It’s the kind of veiled cruelty that would make Edward Albee whoop. A night of empty shibboleths and awful(ly) good intentions. Here is Tsiolkas the watcher: sharp-eyed and peerless. The fly on our wall.

Describing her family’s many moves, Katie says that everything “has its place, / its compartment, / books and / pictures and / feelings, too” (Things Fall Apart). Then she observes that “with each move, there are fewer boxes to carry” (Things Fall Apart). What does it mean to put your feelings in compartments? Why would there be less to carry with each move? This is a novel that is deeply comforting. It brims with vitality and wisdom. It is a story of redemptive love told optimistically. The characters’ past relationships, a source of significant pain in their lives, become the substrate for redemption, rediscovery and rejuvenation in the present day. Tessa is a complex, enigmatic character. She grew up in foster homes and never feels like she belongs. She puts up her walls and does not like to get too close based on her past. You connect with her immediately.Vlahos was raised in a strict religious household, but began questioning her beliefs in high school after the sudden death of a friend. When she got pregnant at nineteen, she was shunned by her community and enrolled herself in nursing school to be able to support herself and her baby. But nursing soon became more than that when she focused on palliative care and hospice work, it became a calling.

Examine the section titled “Again.” What does the poem that Katie writes reveal about her feelings about staying in the hotel? Why do you think she feels like she needs to hide her feelings from her family? I thoroughly enjoyed this mystery with some unexpected twists by Rebecca Ansari. I love books that take my by surprise, and this is definitely one of them. First things first, that cool as all get out and yet ultra creepy cover! Once you get started in the book, you can see where the different elements come from and the significance of each, but before you read...it's another puzzle needing to be solved, and I was only so happy to have the chance to do just that! MOVIE: Soon to be a motion picture starring Joey King. Celebrate Valentine's Day with a paranormal romance, streaming on Paramount+ February 11th, 2022. Here is your chance to read the book before the movie! Watch Trailer. Cooper has had a lot on his young shoulders since his father abandoned the family three years prior. His mother works two jobs to support them, and often he's left in charge of managing his sister Jess's medical issue. He has a difficult time connecting with old friends, and often feels invisible. Then suddenly a strange girl moves in next door, and all she wants to do is stare at him from her swing. What's her deal?

I highly recommend reading the book before the movie. I look forward to more novels by this talented author and cannot wait for the motion picture. My friends, please know this now and forever: no matter how much your father or anyone else makes you feel otherwise; you are seen. You are brilliantly visible (...) You are not forgotten."
