About this deal

Allor: Mikey. He has the purest heart and is the least pragmatic of the Turtles when it comes to complex moral decisions. Mikey is the most likely to do what's right, even if there's fallout. All the Turtles are like that to an extent, and none of them are what I would describe as villainous at all, but yeah, Mikey. Or maybe Leo, or Donnie, or Jenny. Anyway, Mikey and Chun Li are up next, but Mikey doesn’t want to fight, and Chun Li beats the shit out of him. Then he flirts with her, and she blushes. Let me repeat that, he flirts with her and then she blushes. What are we doing here? At this point why couldn’t Raph say something suggestive to Guile and we see Guile blush? Because that’s how pointless both things are to the story. Cover image for 82771403153900521 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Vs. Readers are going to have so much fun watching these characters come together as they face an enormous threat to both teams, from Mikey and Chun-Li’s unlikely bond to Raph and Guile’s rivalry and mutual—but very grudging—respect. This book has it all: humor, danger, a massive number of twists and turns, and a ton of amazing, brutal, over-the-top, bonkers fight scenes! It’s gonna be a blast.” Medel: If we use the word incorruptible, I'd say all the Turtles are equal in that regard. But, if we say, "Which one would be less likely to be manipulated," I'd say, Leo. For me, something might feel right but might end up being different upon analysis. And something might sound right when you think about it, but you feel it's wrong. Leo has the balanced temper to know what to do. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Vs. CBR: The first issues are out in the world. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles vs. Street Fighter is an IDW Publishing mini-series comic crossover releasing beginning in June 2023.

Guile and Mikey chase their quarry to a Ferris wheel. Mikey scales after him to bring him down to ground level. Medel: In addition to some reference material the editors provided me with, I re-watched the Street Fighter II animated movie and the TMNT movie. I also googled the games -- just in general, not a specific one. And I looked at the TMNT IDW comics because, in good part, it's that version of the Turtles. I guess the only inspiration outside of those franchises was my own work. I'm being very respectful of the way that those characters are usually portrayed while also adding my style. Medel: I'd say Ryu vs. Leo. I tend to like team leaders or more well-rounded characters. So I wanna see those two clash. With Street Fighter being a fighting video game franchise and TMNT also having its own fighter in the shape of TMNT: Tournament Fighters, there are a lot of action references and poses to pull from there. Looks like TMNT and Street Fighter are embracing the spirit of teamwork, how utterly noble. This unholy alliance should indeed "be enough to defeat the bad guys" unless of course, they're planning a friendly game of Trivial Pursuit. Donnie, Mikey, Leo, Raph and Jennika trek to Atlantic City to fight in a martial arts competition. Upon their arrival, they find out they’ll be facing off against another talented group of fighters, Street Fighter’s Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Guile.
