About this deal

Tau come from many planetary systems, or Septs, and these shape and define their methods of work. Some of these are: [12] Are any of these “Red Color” adjectives associated with the T’au? Sure, you’ll have to answer this for yourself when deciding how you want to present your painted Tau army. Tau concept art

The Tau wield some of the most advanced weaponry in the 40k Universe. This doesn’t mean it bodes well for them. Tau are often outnumbered, and rely on alien sub-race allies to help them in the fight, e.g., Kroot, Vespids. Use these other models to add some flair and organic grotesqueness in your Tau army collection.Of course, you’ll want to accent your red main colour with different tones to add interest. I’ve always found that models painted entirely in red end up looking “flat” and boring, despite the pop from the table. A mix of orange blending works great with a mainly red basecoat.

Brown and its related shades and hues, e.g., bone, warm whites, are fairly easy to paint with a regular brush. Hobby acrylic paints in the brown range have good coverage and color density. They make great washes and glazes, if you’re looking to use more advanced blending and painting techniques. To this end, Pathfinders are the eyes and ears of a Hunter Cadre, although they coordinate closely with other T'au formations as well. Pathfinders are the undisputed masters of battlefield positioning, possessed of limitless patience and a proud determination to choose the most valuable targets for their fellows to destroy. Pathfinders stand at the front to guide their comrades' aim, and not to win the battle themselves. The SHIELD DRONE with Saviour Protocols can soak up fire against your MARKSMAN or WEAPON EXPERT PATHFINDERS , keeping them alive after they’ve changed to Engage and fired. Red is the color of danger, alertness, and romance. In color psychology, red evokes many affective emotions and represents other aspects of the human experience, including power and adventure. When it comes to a miniature 40k army, red is very popular as a main color.

Pathfinder Drone operatives offer powerful bonuses to their Kill Team, but it comes with a few disadvantages: They can’t perform mission actions, they’re worse at controlling objectives, they don’t benefit from cover as well as other operatives, and they mostly can’t wear equipment. They also measure line of sight differently, since they have a near-360 degree field of vision from their discs rather than eyes. Pulse Weapons This is your standard operative, but with good use of Markerlights (see above) and the Pulse Accelerator Drone to boost its already good Pulse Carbine, it can provide some great shooting. Note, however, that many of your special operatives also have Pulse Carbines in addition to the rest of their loadout. Blooded Pathfinder (1 allowed per Kill Team)I will say, however, that orange hobby paints generally have poor coverage. That is, you’ll need to layer a few coats of orange paint for a smooth finish without streaks. Look at some of the concept art for Tau, and you’ll find a variety of ways to leverage yellow in your T’au paint scheme. If you add too much color to a primarily white schemed Tau army, then doesn’t that model become that color? How you properly paint white as a main color scheme? Awards you a Victory Point at the end of every Turning Point where at least half of the enemy operatives in killzone have one or more Markerlights on them. Patient Hunter The Recon Drone also has better survivability than most other operatives in your Kill Team, and it can give you an extra Recon option in the Scouting step of missions with a Scouting step, so it’s no wonder this drone counts for two operatives. MV31 Pulse Accelerator Drone (1 allowed per Kill Team)

The famous El'Myamoto, also called sub-commander Darkstrider, has never sought promotion beyond the role of Pathfinder. Instead, he has continued to hone his skills as a stealth specialist, contributing to victory after victory for the T'au Empire from the shadows. Pathfinder teams essentially get a whole new suite of Equipment to play with. Photon Grenades return here, but as everyone already has Markerlights and the Shas’Ui comes with a Holographic Readout built in, the new team calls for all-new options. Of these, High-Intensity Markerlight (2 EP) is liable to see the most use, since the ability to drop 2 markerlights instead of 1 on a target when doing the action makes getting to that 3 ML sweet spot much, much easier. Likewise, Orbital Survey Uplink (3 EP) gives its operative a 2AP action to put a Markerlight on any enemy operative without terrain above them and every enemy operative within ▲ of them. You won’t need to do this often, but when you do it can be absolutely devastating. As a T’au war fleet bears down on the Vedik system to reclaim it from Imperial hands (admittedly, hands they originally took it from in the first place ) Pathfinder teams range ahead to disrupt the defenders. Led by combat veterans with many years of experience, they creep through rubble to gather information and assassinate targets with ruthless efficiency.

Fire, Earth, Water and Air) grouped into a Coalition (or Shan'al) under the command of the local Ethereals. [15] The Tau Empire are a relatively young civilization in the 40k universe, yet they have made their presence known via great technological achievements. On the Eastern Fringe of the galaxy, a they have emerged to challenge the might of the Imperium of Man and the other established races in the 41st millennium. They are a surprisingly advanced civilization that has organized itself around a single guiding principle known as "The Greater Good." By setting aside individualism to serve the needs of society as a whole, the Tau Empire has developed and expanded at an astounding rate. In just over 6,000 years, they evolved from savanna dwelling primitives to space-faring colonists. Mirage" Long Range Infiltration Unit – T'au Pathfinders are often dropped behind enemy lines on embattled worlds many solar days before a major T'au offensive as a "Mirage" Long Range Infiltration Unit. These night-time infiltration missions are highly risky, as the team is often completely isolated because it is forced to maintain communications silence for many days, deep in enemy territory. Only their powerful stealth fields allow them to remain undetected for so long as they identify the key objectives in the enemy defence lines. When the primary T'au assault begins, the main role of these teams is to use their Marker Lights to direct the devastating firepower of the main force against the chosen targets. A "Mirage" Long Range Infiltration Unit formation will usually consist of one to three Devilfish-mounted Pathfinder Teams, along with an attached Stealth Optimised Devilfish that carries a powerful stealth field generator which disguises nearby comrades within its radius of effect. All Devilfish in a "Mirage" formation will also have their Gun Drones replaced with Marker Drones, to better aid the Pathfinders in highlighting enemy targets.
