About this deal

The Super-Steed of Steel: Action Comics #292-294 (September-November, 1962) and #300-302 (May-July, 1963) by Leo Dorfman and Jim Mooney. Linda is having weird recurring dreams where she is helped by a strange super-powerful white horse. Her dreams are a prelude to her meeting with Comet, a strange horse with an even stranger story. The Earthwar Saga: Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes #241-245 (July-November, 1978). As trying to stop a Khund invasion, Superboy and the Legion discover someone infinitely more powerful and more dangerous than a vast alien army is pulling the strings. The Dominus Effect: Superman finds himself in four different realities at the same time, being pursued by a cosmic entity named Dominus who is after Kismet. Krisis of the Krimson Kryptonite: Unable to mess with Superman, Mr. Mxyzptlk gives Luthor a synthetic Kryptonite to drain Superman's powers. Notable for its ending with Clark Kent proposing to Lois Lane.

The Leper from Krypton: Action Comics 363-366 (May-August, 1968). Lex Luthor cultures his own strain of Virus X and gets Superman infected with an incurable disease. Father Leone is dying from cancer, and rather than be at terms with it (providing him with that moral clarity that only comes from being near death), Azzarello opts to have him make a bargain with the devil through signing up for Mr. Orr's experimental treatment. If I had to hazard a guess, Azzarello wanted to have this contrast between Superman coming to terms with his regrets as he seeks gui

Collected Editions

The “Superhero” Trademark: how the name of a genre came to be owned by DC and Marvel, and how they enforce it Our Worlds at War: A semi- Crisis Crossover mainly centered on Superman that involved him and everyone else fighting the obscenely powerful Imperiex and Brainiac 13. DC League of Super-Pets - A 2022 animated film produced by and staring Dwayne Johnson as Krypto the Super-Dog and John Krasinski as Clark Kent/Superman.

The Untold Story of Argo City: Action Comics #309-310 and 314-316. Supergirl investigates the death of Argo City and her parents' real fate... and that is only the beginning of her problems. Action Comics #544 includes both "Luthor Unleashed" and "Rebirth," which introduce Luthor's warsuit and Brainiac's cosmic skelet-robot form, respectively. Superman: Legacy: The upcoming first installment of the "DC Universe" written and directed by James Gunn, starring David Corenswet as Clark and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois. Halfway through this twelve-issue arc, things start to get confusing when we find out the secrets of The Vanishing in which Azzarello brings a highly convoluted sci-fi approach to Heaven and Hell. What it also leads to is a strange revelation for Superman as his characterisation throughout will question many readers. As for the subplot involving Father Leone which is to provide a human side to For Tomorrow as well as an opportunity for Superman to say some words of inspiration, but the priest’s story was resolved poorly and left unanswered questions in regards to some of the supporting cast. Even a bout of writer amnesia (or the imbibing of substances) won’t prevent Superman from doing something “bad”. As far as I can tell, Superman's Imagination (along with some Kryptonian sciency-stuff) created... Utopia? Superman/Batman: Apocalypse - Direct sequel to the above, depicting the arrival of Supergirl and her kidnapping by Darkseid.

Krypton No More: As Superman is under tremendous stress and on the verge of a mental collapse, Supergirl tells him that they are both mutants from Earth, and Krypton never existed. Superman vol. 1 #307-309. Superman Family Adventures: An all-ages comic book about Superman, his cousins Superboy and Supergirl, and their pets Krypto and Streaky. Despite being published around the time of the New 52, it's mostly Silver Age Superman with a new belt. The most unsuperman story ever! So I have always wanted to read this book, but I've always heard mixed things about it which always puzzled me. Brian Azzarello and Jim Lee doing a Superman story together, how bad could it be? It was very bad! So the story has a million people around the world seemingly disappear, Infinity War style (including Lois), all while Superman was out in space helping (but not really) Green Lantern. Now Superman is mopy and he flys around depressed for 80% of this book while trying to figure out what happened. There are many interesting things you can do with Superman in a what if Lois died story, this is not one of those stories! The K-Metal from Krypton: A 1940 story which was meant to introduce Kryptonite to the comics and end the Clark-Lois-Superman triangle (by Lois learning his secret identity) as Superman finally learned of his origins. Unfortunately, National Comics decided against publishing the story, but it has been rediscovered and restored by the Man of Steel's fans .The Flash: The DCEU Superman briefly appears at the beginning of the movie ( only seen from behind), and during the climax, as the Flash gazes into the DC Multiverse, we see CGI recreations of numerous live-action Supermen, including George Reeves, Christopher Reeve (accompanied by Helen Slater's Supergirl), and even Nicolas Cage from the unmade Superman Lives. Love is Blind!: Imaginary story published in Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lave #91. Lois Lane gets married to Superman after losing her sight. The last point of non-spoilery contention I have with the writing is aimed at the fresh villains Azzarello and Lee have conceived for this arc. In the 21st century, I've never understood the need to construct new menaces when a plethora of existing personas exist- it's one thing if you're creating an unseen threat and want to add a layer of mystery to older readers (Hush of course being the perennial example); however here, none of the new additions, Mr. Orr, Equus, and Halcyon, were worthy of conception. Halcyon is a generic witch who could've been replaced with Circe, and Orr & Equus generic mercenaries tied to a clandestine organization who could've easily had their role replaced with the Metallos and Bloodsports of yesteryear. Implementing these replacements wouldn't have impacted the narrative in any noticeable way. As it stands, Halcyon and Equus are tolerable enough on their own, however, Orr, was absolutely annoying to read; a misogynistic diphead who magically moves wherever the story warrants him, topped with unexplained motivations incorporated in a pathetic attempt at making him deeper than he is. It says enough about all threes' legacy that not a single one penetrated the zeitgeist the way Hush did; a handful of sporadic appearances that no one cares for. The Oz Effect: Mr. Oz's identity is out in the open, just as he begins his endgame against Superman and his family. Celebration: Superman Family issue 200 presents a possible alternate future for the Pre-Crisis Superman Family.

Superman (Rebirth): A book launched with DC Rebirth, starring the pre- Flashpoint Superman, his wife Lois, and half-Kryptonian son, Jonathan Samuel Kent. In Archie Comics, it's Pureheart the Powerful , also called Captain Pureheart, which came out of the 1960s superhero revival and the Life with Archie comics with their longer adventure stories. The Unknown Legionnaire: Adventure Comics #334 (July, 1965). The Legion of Super-Heroes are having difficulties to find and apprehend a fugitive criminal in a planet inhabited by hostile shape-shifters. Suddenly, they are helped by a masked, nameless, amnesiac super-being. Who may be that person without face, identity and past?Superman flies around for half of this book being an asshole to everyone, including the Justice League; the book invents new characters who are annoying and unlikeable. This is just one of the most uninteresting Superman stories I have ever read! I like most of what Azzarello writes, but this story was just very disappointing. The story also goes in a very weird direction towards the end, that just made me roll my eyes. Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot: Christmas with the Super-Heroes Vol 1 #2 (1989). Kara Zor-El may have become a forgotten ghost when the universe was remade, but she still has time to comfort a distraught Deadman at Christmas Eve.
