About this deal

And when it gets down to that musky cashmere wood baby softness, I'm in a bliss into the next day. Oh, it's lovely. the juice in the cute little dropshaped silver bottle is pure bliss! i expected something very different, not that smooth and innocent. don t get me wrong, the scent is strong and intense, not weak but soft and dreamy. kinda adictive. La Prairie is a Swiss cosmetics company first associated with the famed Clinique La Prairie, which was founded in 1931. The Clinique was a pioneer in the treatment and revitalization of skin. The line of cosmetics and skin care products originally associated with the clinic were spun off in 1982, and have been part of the Beiersdorf family of companies since 1991. downwards the base you can feel the mossy patchouli and deep woody oud slightly fading in the sweet cream of flowers and fruits, perfect rounded with vanilla-tonkabean and the most creamy sandalwood-musk ever!

La Prairie MIDNIGHT RAIN, unlike SILVER RAIN, conveys through its name the basic nature of the perfume. There is a darkness, a somewhat purple or dark blue richness, to this composition, which also features amber and therefore evokes in my mind memories of PRADA for her. MIDNIGHT RAIN, however, is lighter on the amber and a lot sweeter than the Prada creation. Still, I find them to be much closer olfactory neighbors than either one of them is to, say, Thierry Mugler ANGEL!

Midnight rain should be haunting, mysterious, darker, a bit moody. Where's the incense and the dirty patchouli? Where's the leather and the ebony wood? WHERE is the midnight? Hell, where's the rain?? Vetiver is the 11th fragrance note in La Prairie Life Threads Silver. Chrysopogon zizanioides, commonly known as vetiver and khus, is a perennial bunchgrass of the family Poaceae. Allowing Silver Rain to settle, I was once again surprised to find a more complex blend in the heart. It just keeps getting better. A sweet floral blend, made up of rose, jasmine and magnolia, tends to smooth out the fruitiness while still keeping things bold and fun. Midnight Rain is such a rich and pleasant scent to my nose. I can absolutely understand why it's a bit polarizing, though. The interaction between tropical fruits and patchouli/musk comes across as either cacophonous or transcendent depending on one's palate and skin chemistry. I was very skeptical when I blind bought my slightly used bottle for a ridiculously low price, and I couldn't be happier!

i can imagine spraying myself over and over with this and i would feel like a goddess in paradise, sitting inbetween ripe fruits and berries and juices, smelling their intense aroma, inhaling a deep breath of woods and mosses to my nostrils, while delicate flowers are spriding intense trails of their pollen everywhere and the creamy odor of their petals hangs around in the air like clouds of sweet dreams. the heart opens with a bold rose in full bloom, followed by sugar coted petals of powdery jasmin, creamy magnolia and at least a bite of ripe plum. on this stage i can really smell the different aromas, heavenly blendet to a very delightful creamy-sweet aroma. Many users say that they get ecstatic feeling sniffing this perfume, which tells that composition is real masterpiece. I remember the shining glass, bright lights, and crystalline bottles of the department store counter the day I first encountered Midnight Rain. I'd wandered in on a whim, had no idea the perfume was still fairly young, and yet fell in love with its scent amidst the huge posters detailing other releases. There are also FLORALs. A great big armful of vanilla orchids. The orchids are very dry and rather dusty to my nose. They are as tenacious as the guava. Neither is willing to retreat, both leading the olfactory charge. Again, it is fortunate I find orchid equally appealing, BUT not enough to be smothered in them.

I remember testing Silver Rain sometime last year and finding it a little too heavy on the berries. When I read that Midnight Rain also featured dominant fruity accords, I must admit that I feared it to be just as potent as its predecessor. What I realize now that I own it is that what I fell in love with was the soft drydown that lingered on the card. It's gentle and a little creamy; comforting. And quite a contrast to the opening and middle notes. I find Silver Rain quite a fascinating fragrance. It's not what I had expected, and for that, I'm glad.
