About this deal

Shelly 1PM– used for power management of major appliances including dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, boiler and water heater If you only see only two wires (sometimes earth cable as well) connected, your lights are fed through the ceiling and your Shelly 1 has to go inside the light-fitting hole. Extra cables?

One key feature of the Shelly 1 Plus i4 is its enhanced support for input connections. It can connect and control up to four different input devices, effectively serving as a relay for multiple circuits or devices. My ‘random’ 12V wall wart from the junk box actually supplies 12.4V. Contrary to another review, I seem to have no issue being slightly above 12V. But then again, perhaps it accounted for some of the flakiness when I first powered them up before I had switched them to my home network.

Don’t get me wrong, splicing cables isn’t impossible, I’m handy with tools and I still don’t feel comfortable splitting a 220V cable three-way and the only safe method I can think of are WAGO type connectors which just add to the final cost of installation and increase the chance that you will run out of space. It’s a disappointment that Shelly 1 didn’t go Sosnoff Mini way and got us 6 terminals to make it all work.

Enabling this setting will make it so the device periodically scans for a better access point when the RSSI signal strength value is below the one you have chosen from the drop-down menu. Access point Hats off to the person coding the switch behaviour. A simple ON|OFF would be nice but Shelly 1 comes with a list of possible behaviours. There are plenty of resources like the support forum and other users with lots of experience to leverage. They respond fast when on the cloud. Pressing the button on the app or a door opening or light coming on is near instantaneous. There is no way I would run such devices over a free cloud network. The Shelly network is in the EU and it may be relatively safe, but I prefer to keep my networking ‘in-house’.

Shelly 1 ponuja celovito rešitev za avtomatizacijo vašega stanovanja, hiše ali pisarne in pomaga znatno zmanjšati porabo električne energije in znižati stroške, brez potrebe po spremembah obstoječega ožičenja Shelly Plus 1 can be accessed, controlled and monitored remotely from any place where the User has internet connectivity, as long as the device is connected to a Wi-Fi router and the Internet. I will post some follow-up articles over the coming weeks, covering how I installed our devices and what they are used for in the future but to get you started here is a simple introduction. Making a Dumb Light Smart If you require an even more advanced solution, which in addition to all the features of Shelly 1 Plus, can handle multiple (up to four) input devices simultaneously, then Shelly 1 Plus i4 would be the most suitable choice for you. Lights are usually done on a separate loop. They tend to be connected with each other, so you are likely to find another mains cable to continue the loop. If you break the loop (I have done so the first time around) you will still enjoy the Shelly 1, just not the lights elsewhere. InstallationShelly 1 is tiny and should fit without any problems behind the wall switch or light fitting. Hardware and installation In this setting, you can enable/disable Cross-Origin Resource Sharing, CoIoT and MQTT. If you enable CoIoT, a text box will appear, where you can type in the CoIoT peer. There you can enter mcast for multicast or ip:port for unicast. A device is required when the CoIoT peer is changed.
