About this deal

In the aftermath of the verdict, Harris was stripped of his royal honours as well as his BAFTA fellowship. Further charges of indecent assault were brought against him during his prison sentence, but he was acquitted of them. Release What follows here are my views. I have also copied and pasted this, Matthew, so if you remove anything, or change it, I will know. Obviously, you may not even let it on here either. That’s OK, I’ll post it elsewhere.. She stated she was on stage, at the head of a queue, 7/8 years old, Rolf crouching down to sign her piece of paper. She says he was looking at her warmly, then states his eyes were very cold (??)..So, he’s crouching down, to be at her level, pen in one hand, paper in t’other, yet, somehow he’s allegedly able to put his ‘hairy’ hands (Rolf has never had hairy hands, find photos of him as younger man on Google images and he held his hands up in Court)…on her legs, going up to her vaginal area, over her clothes, doing this twice, second time far more forcefully.

Some commentators found it “offensive and unbecoming of the Queen” but she herself expressed approval, particularly with the way Harris had painted her smile. In the fifties, sixties and seventies it was generally acceptable for men to make sexual innuendos, kiss young girls, put their hands on their knees, hug them inappropriately etc. and this went on everywhere. All this type of behaviour is seen as predatory now as times have changed but that doesn't alter the fact that it was generally seen as acceptable at that time.

In 2013, Operation Yewtree, set-up specially to uncover sexual abuse in the entertainment industry, arrested, questioned and eventually charged Rolf Harris with 12 counts of indecent assaults on adolescent girls. At the subsequent trial, in 2014 he was found guilty and sentenced to five years and nine months in jail. Accusers are hailed as victims even before any investigation has been done and the defendants are guilty before they have even been charged. This is our conclusion after spending months looking at the trial of Rolf Harris. In our opinion Rolf Harris is a wholly innocent man who was ensnared by Operation Yewtree and framed by the Metropolitan Police. WHY would Rolf Harris, MAJOR star at that time, be appearing at a small hall on the largest council estate in Europe (at that time) when he was also on our TV screens every weekend with his own HUGELY successful show? Over a decade on from his arrest, Harris’ accusers including those who have waived their right to anonymity to tell the story of how they say his assaults impacted on them, and the pressures that finally forced them to come forward to testify against him in court.Harris married Alwen in 1958 and the pair had their only child, a girl named Bindi, in 1964. A workaholic, Harris spent little time with his family. At one point, his wife even contemplated suicide due to the boredom of being married to an absent spouse.

Harris was the second person to be convicted under a wide-ranging police investigation set up after the Jimmy Savile revelations. The eight-year-old girl had asked for an autograph before Harris groped her. He was also found to have molested two other young teenagers and to have carried out a catalogue of abuse against his daughter’s then best friend, whom prosecutors said Harris groomed from the age of 13 and used like “his little toy”. Of all the failed prosecutions and investigations into innocent men, the law of averages gives that eventually an innocent man will be convicted, and this is it. Read Jim Davidson’s book about Operation Yewtree ‘No Further Action’ to find out his feelings on Linda Nolan…whose husband, now passed on, was found to have allegedly stolen some money from Frank Carson’s dressing room once…He just about managed to keep his temper with her on Big Brother, refusing to rise to any bait that was put out…. Harris moved to London in 1952 when he was 22. He enrolled at art school where he met his future wife, Alwen Hughes. He was also accused of indecently touching a 14-year-old girl in 1971 after she asked him for an autograph at a music event for children in London. A third teenage girl claimed Harris twice groped her after appearing on the ITV celebrity show Star Games in 1978 and telling her she was “a little bit irresistible”.
