Prince Eric was voiced by Christopher Daniel Barnes for the Little Mermaid films and Kingdom Hearts. Prince Eric was a bonafide hunk. Let’s just take inventory of all the reasons that our man Eric here is a stud. Number one, the guy is a prince. This one’s a no-brainer, but being the heir to an entire kingdom is a pretty big deal. Number two, he’s got his own ship. Few things are more studly than owning and sailing your own ship across the high seas in search of adventure. He’s sort of like a pirate, except without the moral ambiguity. Number three, he’s got a look that will make any princess swoon. Not only does he have the perfectly unkempt hairstyle of a male model, but he also knows how to dress for success. He doesn’t hide his good looks behind a crown, or a bunch of heavy formal wear. He wears a simple outfit that makes him approachable by even the shyest of mermaids. In Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, a bootleg version of Prince Eric appears with other bootleg versions of The Little Mermaid characters for a bootleg movie Sweet Pete had in mind "The Small Fish Lady". In this bootleg version, Eric is a bit of overweight and has a beard.In Fantasmic!, Eric joins Ariel and other Disney couples during the princess-themed medley. He also makes an appearance riding Steamboat Willie during the show's finale. He is portrayed by English actor Jonah Hauer-King. In a later Season 3 episode " Ariel's Treasures", Eric is seen briefly aboard a ship, from which a human item falls and is later collected by Ariel.
Prince Eric has yet to make an appearance in the Kingdom Keepers books, but he is mentioned by Ariel in the fourth book. Here she says she spends her days at Disney's Hollywood Studios very lonely for they keep Eric at Magic Kingdom, in the current show at Cinderella Castle.
