About this deal

See more Panagia Tourliani Monastery (Getty Images) 11. Light a candle at the Monastery of Panagia Tourliani Now, as we edge into autumn and winter, the thermometer dips a touch, but the charm? Still very much there. It's still Greece after all! Sunshine might play a bit hard to get, but it's around, giving you every excuse to sip on some ouzo or explore without breaking a sweat.

We want you to be safe whilst on holiday. For the latest foreign travel advice visit www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice. Love a cold beer on a hot day? Make a beeline for the Mykonos Brewing Company. Take a tasting tour to learn about the process of crafting beer at the popular microbrewery. Whether you’re looking for a tiny, secluded cove lapped by cerulean waters or a wide stretch of sugar-white sand covered with sun worshippers, Mykonos has a beach to suit your needs. The island boasts 25 beaches, and they’re justifiably Mykonos' biggest natural attraction. Partygoers should look no further than Paradise or Super Paradise, dominated by eponymous beach clubs. Paraga and Psarou are other favorites for beach parties. Popular with families, Elia is Mykonos’ longest sweep of white sand, while Platys Gialos and Kalafatis are particularly good for water sports. Like June, September is an excellent month to visit Mykonos. The sea has been warming all summer long, and you’ll enjoy gorgeous swimming at all the beaches. For the Harvest Festival, celebrated early in the month at the Agricultural Museum in Hora, families bring traditional foods and feast throughout the day.

a href="https://www.thecut.com/2018/04/lizy-manola-releases-new-photography-book-mykonos-muse.html" target="_blank">See Mykonos Through the Eye of an Acclaimed Greek Photographer, The Cut, April 2018 The island delicacy of Louza is a tasty cold cut consisting of thin slices of spiced, cooked pork. It’s dried in the winter sun and marinated with spices. Preparations for Christmas enliven Hora. This is a family holiday, and decorations are muted compared to destinations depending on holiday tourism. Note that gifts are not traditionally exchanged on December 25th, but rather at the New Year. Expect crisp sunny days punctuated by squalls. The Cavo Tagoo Golden Spa offers traditional body and face treatments, plus chromatotherapy, sauna, steam bath and salon services. Located adjacent to the spa, the fitness center allows guests to keep in top shape during their stay.

Set in Tourlos and only 1.1 km from Tourlos Beach, Paradisia Villas offers accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. With mountain views, this accommodation provides a patio and a swimming pool. The accommodation features airport transfers, while a car rental service is also available. Platis Gialos: You’ll find Mykonos hotels practically spilling onto the sand at Platis Gialos. With boat trips, water sports and shallow water, this is a top spot for families. If you’re a shopaholic, you’ll love Matoyianni Street in Chora. The island’s main shopping strip is lined with designer stores, handmade jewellery shops and souvenir stores. During summer, the shops are open until around midnight.

Save time, save money!

Completely revamped by the talented interior designer Stamos Hondrodimos and located in the Bill & Coo Coast Suites on Agios Ioannis Beach, the new Beefbar Mykonos exudes an atmosphere of Riviera barefoot luxury. On the restaurant's terrace overlooking the magnificent bay with its tamarisks and tiny little whitewashed churches, a whole palette of ochre tones from stately terracotta to dapper yellow can be admired in the striped shade of the pergola. Every detail, from the cosy corners, to the red marble table dressed with Bernardaud porcelain dinnerware breathes refinement. In Mykonos, the Beefbar has reinvented its concept by offering a wider selection of fish-based finger food dishes for a light Aegean lunch. The chefs Ntinos Fotinakis and Yiannis Babalis propose a farandole of seafood – tartare, ceviche and aquachile, fish, tasty little red shrimps from Symi, blue crab bites and crunchy calamari. Savour them with a glass of Assyrtiko from Santorini’s best cellars, an experience that will make all seafood enthusiasts yearn to return. Evenings are still for meat aficionados with fine cuts of carefully cured pieces from the best origins. The spacious and minimal guest rooms, suites and villas are individually decorated and some feature a spa bath. In-room amenities include bathrobe and slippers, flat-screen TV and Simmons bed mattresses. Some units also feature a private pool. Free WiFi is available throughout. Dive into the crystal-clear waters at Agrari Beach, a relaxing stretch that’s a little off the beaten path. You’ll find umbrellas, sunbeds and a beach tavern, with plenty of empty sand to spread out.

Located near the chapel of Agios Ioannis, Kapari Beach offers views across to Delos and a sandy stretch free from sunbeds or beach bars. Stay for incredible sunset views. The Aegean Maritime Museum in Mykonos Town is not a money-spinning tourist attraction but a non-profit institution — among their projects is the restoration of historic ships as well as preserving artefacts from seafaring days of old. Inside you’ll find paintings, amphorae, models of old and new ships — including the famous “fire ships” that helped Greece win its war of independence against the Ottomans two centuries ago — along with portraits of Greek naval heroes and heroines. The original light from the island’s Armenistis lighthouse is the garden’s deserved centrepiece. Beach umbrellas are stored away and locals retreat into their white-washed burrows as the island slips into off-season quiet. Small feast days bring families out to village churches. DecemberParadise Beach: The party’s always pumping on Paradise Beach. Start your day with jet skiing and hire a sun lounger to chill out. As the afternoon fades to night, beach bars, clubs and lounges set the scene for fun. Super Paradise Beach is an upscale beach club nearby that offers a similar vibe. The Cycladic Islands are famous for meltemi, a summer wind that provides the prime conditions for kitesurfing. It constantly blows in 20 to 35 knots at sandy Korfos Beach, at the bottom of the narrow bay 2.5km south of Mykonos Town, separated by a 300m isthmus from the calm waters of Ornos beach to the south. Kite Mykonos will supply the equipment or teach you how it’s done if you’ve never tried; the shallow waters here make it an ideal place to learn.
