I liked the structure of this book - it reminded me of The Bolds in its layout, with the sketchy drawings and funny narrative. It also has a lot of heart, largely owing to Grandpa, but also because Bonnie is a really likeable main character - quite often young detectives tend to be irritating and entitled but Bonnie wasn't at all.

I’m hugely fond of a young detective, solving crimes in an adult world and often overthrowing those in authority tasked to investigate. They’re so compelling and they really have you rooting for the main character and Bonnie was definitely one you could get behind. I loved the sound of her from the get go and was fully embroiled in her detective business. For any readers who LOVE whodunnits, Montgomery Bonbon is the book to read! The funniest detectives in children's fiction – I loved it so much. Put on your fake moustaches and join the murdery fun!
