This is consistent with a recent Breast Cancer Surveillance Consortium study, which found that during periods of reduced capacity, triaging individuals most likely to have cancer, including women with symptoms, could result in detecting the most cancers while performing the fewest examinations compared with a nonrisk-based approach ( 38).
