About this deal

Besides the stunning art, this graphic novel and webtoon had an enticing plot and all our favourite Greek gods (it’s just one big fun party). Some even say that this is the best retelling of the Hades-Persephone Greek mythology. I have tried to review this a couple of times but obviously, as you can see, the plot is very fast-moving and dense and it's hard to break it down unless it's in smaller chunks. Since coming to Olympus, Persephone has struggled to be the perfect maiden goddess. Her attraction to Hades has only complicated the intense burden of the gods’ expectations. And after Apollo’s assault, Persephone fears she can no longer bury the intense feelings of hurt and love that she’s worked so hard to hide. As for the characters, they are inspired by the original Greek gods – their powers and tales but there is definitely a younger, more refreshing take on these characters. sorry but minthe might be my fav character 🏃🏽‍♀️ i think she's a great example of how well-rounded the writing is. even tho she's an abusive, toxic, unlikeable character, she's not made to be one-dimensional. and episode 46 slapped i won't budge on that ☝🏽

It's easy to see why the internet has fallen in love with Lore Olympus. This dazzling interpretation of the classic Greek myths is as charming as it is provocative.' Marissa Meyer, No1 New York Times bestselling author of The Lunar Chronicles Experience the propulsive love story of two Greek gods—Hades and Persephone—brought to life with lavish artwork and an irresistible contemporary voice. Smart, sexy, romantic, and full of heart . . . an unforgettable and startlingly relatable epic that combines addictive storytelling, engaging characters, and a lush, unmistakable art style.” —Kami Garcia, New York Times bestselling author of Teen Titans: Raven and coauthor of Beautiful Creatures Hands down, the art. Nothing like you’ve seen before. It looks magical and it should as it is a retelling of the Greek Gods. Besides the art, the modern plot and fun characters make it popular.

Success!

But as Hades and Persephone’s relationship grows stronger, others begin to fall apart. The bond between Hades and Zeus is stretched to its limit, threatening to fracture the peace between their realms. Persephone and Artemis’s friendship hangs by a thread as the goddess of the hunt slowly uncovers the vile truth about her twin, Apollo. A line is being drawn in the heavens, putting everyone’s loyalties into question as all the gods are forced to choose sides. It is truly unique. Magical in my opinion. The art truly captures something beyond us (like the Greek Gods in this retelling). A sweepingly romantic story that offers new meaning with each and every rereading, Rachel Smythe’s Lore Olympus perfectly balances humor and tragedy, heartbreak and desire. Fans who enjoyed it as a webcomic will be thrilled to hold this luscious work of art in their hands.” —Jo Rochelle, creator of Girl Wonder podcast Hades struggles to find support in his personal life, with Zeus trivializing his feelings and Minthe resorting to abusive patterns in their relationship. And while Hades tries to create healthier boundaries where he can—like finally putting a stop to his sporadic, revenge-fueled hookups with Hera—he still feels lonely and adrift. I like how each god has its own colour – it is easier to remember the characters that way (eg: yellow – Hera, blue – Hades, pink – Persephone, dark purple – Artemis and Apollo who are siblings, etc)

Witness what the gods do after dark in the fifth volume of a stylish and contemporary reimagining of one of the best-known stories in Greek mythology, featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes content from creator Rachel Smythe. The vibrant art along with raw human traits expressed by the Greek Gods in this webtoon/graphic novel makes the reader emotionally invested. Persephone, young goddess of spring, is new to Olympus. Her mother, Demeter, has raised her in the mortal realm, but after Persephone promises to train as a sacred virgin, she’s allowed to live in the fast-moving, glamorous world of the gods. When her roommate, Artemis, takes her to a party, her entire life changes: she ends up meeting Hades and feels an immediate spark with the charming yet misunderstood ruler of the Underworld. Now Persephone must navigate the confusing politics and relationships that rule Olympus, while also figuring out her own place—and her own power. If eyes could eat, [ Lore Olympus] would be a feast. Smythe’s artistic style features bright washes of color and bold, suggestive lines. . . . It’s paced as a soap opera, all drawn-out tensions and long-simmering secrets, and I, for one, am thrilled to be along for the ride.” — New York Times Book Review Hades struggles to find support in his personal life, with Zeus trivializing his feelings and Minthe resorting to abusive patterns in their relationship. And while Hades tries to create healthier boundaries where he can-like finally putting a stop to his sporadic, revenge-fueled hookups with Hera-he still feels lonely and adrift. I read Lore Olympus ( the Webtoon series) about 2-3 years ago when Webtoon was still a fresh comic/manga app.

A form of media where Zeus is portrayed as a piece of shit and the scum of scums that he really is? Win. Psyche- "I love being here. It's like a dream....but I don't want to be a dream. I want to be real." It is Persephone’s birthday, and she receives the ultimate gift: Hades confesses his desire for her, leading to their first kiss. But that doesn’t necessarily make things easier for the goddess of spring, who is still in over her head in gossip-driven Olympus. Persephone feels intense guilt over the official breakup between Hades and Minthe, she is struggling to find her footing in her fast-paced job, and—worst of all—the shades of her past are slowly coming to light. Yes, it is exactly the same. However, it is important to note that this is Volume 1 and therefore it only contains the first 25 chapters from the Webtoons.this quote 🔥 (for reference when persephone thought she was being a burden to hades after him helping her) The Lore Olympus books are a full-color graphic novel adaptation of the WEBTOON comic by the same name from creator Rachel Smythe. The artwork remains unaltered but has been reorganized into a graphic novel layout.
