The product's innovation, at the time of the Great Depression, was to conveniently market nonperishable dried macaroni noodles together with a processed cheese powder. The product is prepared by cooking the pasta and adding the cheese powder along with butter (or margarine) and milk. Our Cheesy Pasta also uses fresh tomatoes with basil, but you can use a tin of tomatoes instead if you prefer! Feel free to add a bit more salt, or even some balsamic vinegar to enhance the tomatoes further. What diets is this Cheesy Pasta suitable for? Compared to Macaroni and Cheese, this one tastes lighter which is a good thing since the American mac and cheese tastes very fat.
