Once a card is burnt, it is permanently removed from the game. This is important because those cards, aside from being your actions, also double-up as your hit points. Once a player has no more cards in their hand, the character they are playing is eliminated from the game.
The game initially features four dinosaurs, and eight additional creatures can be encountered as the game progresses. Gameplay generally revolves around the dinosaurs, such as avoiding carnivores or protecting herbivores. Jurassic World: The Legacy of Isla Nublar received positive reception from several reviewers who played it prior to release. [11] Charlie Hall of Polygon played the first three sessions and called the game a "meaty cooperative experience with a confident pace, one that seems to expertly toe the line between the unexpected and the familiar". He considered it "more than just a movie tie-in", writing, "This could be the crossover success that brings the legacy genre of board games into the mainstream". He praised the mini-games, finding them to be "engaging" yet "simple without being dumbed down". [1] William Cennamo of Screen Rant called the game "a fantastic entry into the world of legacy-style games, easy enough for the whole family yet filled with enough strategic decisions for veteran board gamers". The dinosaurs don't kill anyone, unlike in the movie, they just pin them down until the dinosaur is moved away or an escape card is played. One player plays as the dinosaurs against the other players, who play as the iconic team of humans fighting for their life. The humans have to enable major centres on the island before getting to the helipad and flying to safety. But, if the T-Rex, Velociraptor, and Dilophosaurus munch three characters, the humans lose!

But by the fifth scenario they’re a nuisance, detracting from the more enjoyable elements, like herding dinosaurs and searching for lost children. This failing can be smoothed over somewhat by rotating which player at the table will be assigned the dirty work each session, but that’s a Band-Aid at best. As always, we brought a friend along who has never played before to get their opinion on Jurassic Park: Danger. “Good concept, not as great execution” is how Ione summed this game up, and we have to say we agree. Ione really enjoyed how the game has so many characters (almost everyone in the original film is playable) but also felt the game does not always know what to do with them all, making the game feel clunky and awkward at times.
