A player stops when he reaches Port Royale. Any remaining evening action has to be ignored. The current game round is finished in normal way, the game ends and players refresh their points. Final Score includes the white number on the space where the player’s ship is plus any doubloons in his holds plus any treasures minus any cursed treasures. The winner is the player with the highest number of points. Players with equal points share the victory. RBG has a completely unique mechanic. It’s not just simply throwing dice. You’re actually going to be throwing dice into a box. Okay, that may not sound too new and unique, but it is. All of the dice in a given round are all gathered up and thrown into the box top. When they land, the face values will, of course, matter but also where they land is extremely important too. How far away the dice are from each other determines the ship placements in-game. Each die represents a ship and the physical distance between each die will affect its abilities.
There’s actually no player elimination here, which is always nice for a board game. The other thing Seafall brings to the table is another legacy system. All players take a pirate ship, action cards and player board. The beautifully drawn cards depict a pirate scene when placed together. The icons are clear and simple, showing what they represent. The ships are nicely designed. Each player board has 5 cargo holds of your ship. Taking 3 food and 3 doubloon tokens, each group stored in separate holds. Any new booty kept separate from existing tokens in an empty hold. If your holds are full, you must make space and get rid of your ill-gotten cargo in one of your holds. Hold Them Sails You get points equal to the white number in the top corner of the space your ship currently sits on. The further along you are, the higher that number will be.Summary: This is a pirate-themed tactical race game with player interaction and side goals (e.g. detouring for treasure). The winner is the player who best balances their position in the race with their success at the side goals. To determine who goes first, players take turns rolling the dice, the person with the highest outcome goes first.
The sea battle has already taken place. Skelit’s Revenge, the legendary ghost ship has been bested. You and your crew have set it ablaze and crippled it. It’s dead in the water. Every turn, players will secretly decide where their ships will go using hidden navigation cards. Once revealed, all ships will move at once and if any 2 ships are at the same island, guess what happens?
