About this deal

Middle America, the geographic realm between the United States and the continent of South America, consists of three main regions: the Caribbean, Mexico, and the Central American republics. The Caribbean region, the most culturally diverse of the three, consists of more than seven thousand islands that stretch from the Bahamas to Barbados. The four largest islands of the Caribbean make up the Greater Antilles, which include Cuba, Jamaica, Hispaniola, and Puerto Rico. Hispaniola is split between Haiti in the west and the Dominican Republic in the east. The smaller islands, extending all the way to South America, make up the Lesser Antilles. The island that is farthest south is Trinidad, just off the coast of Venezuela. The Bahamas, the closest islands to the US mainland, are located in the Atlantic Ocean but are associated with the Caribbean region. The Caribbean region is surrounded by bodies of salt water: the Caribbean Sea in the center, the Gulf of Mexico to the west, and the North Atlantic to the east. I found the characters all seemed to be relatable, even when they weren't likeable, which is quite an achievement, especially with a large group. They ALL came across as realistic, and mostly sympathetic in some way, despite all being so different, and their stories were all intriguing to follow.

Middle America is a subregion in the middle latitudes of the Americas. It usually includes Mexico, the seven countries of Central America, and the 13 island countries and 18 territories of the Caribbean. Together with Northern America, they form the continent of North America. In the mold of movies such as Traffic, Magnolia & The Usual Suspects, In the Middle of Middle America portrays the same story playing out from seven different points of view.

Among the five scenarios, the intermediate one is most likely and will lead to a warming of 2.1-3.5 degrees Celsius with a median at 2.7 degrees Celsius (compared with pre-industrial period) by the end of this century," Qinqin Kong, a co-author on the study and a doctoral candidate at Purdue University, told Newsweek. Based on human's current physiological capabilities, it may be possible for those who live in the regions which are chronically exposed to extreme heat (e.g., South Asia, the Middle East) to develop better biological protection to the heat, but there is still a limit to what they'll be able to withstand. Those living in the mid-latitudes will likely not be exposed to this extreme heat on a consistent enough basis to build up any large or long-lasting physiological protection." Middle America is a colloquial term for the United States heartland, especially the culturally suburban areas of the United States, typically the Lower Midwestern region of the country, which consists of Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, CIA political map of Middle America. 1994. There's a returning soldier trying to reconnect to his family, a head teacher (principle) who seems a bit odd, a TV producer who is one of the oddest characters and seldom speaks. A goth, who is desperate for friendship and or love. A young Irish girl who has just moved to the USA with her family and hates the place at the start. There are several other but this is gives you a general idea of how the story flows. Five stars is not enough for In the Middle of Middle America; it's simply outstanding! Honestly, I can't stop raving about this book - it's an absolute MUST READ! It's a book I would like to read again, even though I now know the awesome twist, just to see how cleverly it is written. David B. Lyons is such a talented wordsmith and coupled with his intricate plotting makes him one of the cleverest authors I've come across. An American flag usually flies atop a pole placed on the monument. A covered picnic area and the U.S. Center Chapel, [9] a small eight- pew chapel, are nearby. It is distinct from the geographic center of the 50 United States located at a point northeast of Belle Fourche, South Dakota, reflecting the 1959 additions of the states of Alaska and Hawaii.

The last two criticisms, put together, make this book guilty of being both sanctimonious and contrived. The phrase Middle American values is a political cliché; like family values, it refers to more traditional or conservative politics. However, across the United States and more recently in the South, metropolitan areas and major university towns tend to be politically and socially progressive. Examples of such metropolitan areas include Kansas City, Missouri; Columbus, Ohio; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Minneapolis, Minnesota, and major university towns include Madison, Wisconsin; Champaign, Illinois; Bloomington, Indiana; Carbondale, Illinois; Lawrence, Kansas; Athens, Ohio; and Ann Arbor, Michigan. [7] Reflecting these countervailing trends, many political battleground states are situated in "Middle America." [6] As human-induced climate change continues, the Earth will only continue to warm. Scientists believe it could be only a matter of time before the planet reaches a point beyond the point that a human could withstand. At the Earth's current level of warming, the U.S. will experience heat waves, but they will not surpass human limitations— though some parts of the world will. During the study, scientists looked at five possible warming scenarios if the Earth were to warm beyond 1.5 degrees Celsius above preindustrial levels. This is an easy to read novel with a great mixture of characters, don't be put off by the amount of them the author has written it to ensure the story flows really well.
