About this deal

There is so much to enjoy from Heidi's stories but something I well and truly love is meeting up with characters from previous works, it makes me want to re-read the others again to get reacquainted properly! Despite it being part of a series, this book could absolutely be read as a standalone however trust me you'd be missing out! The Winter Garden is the perfect read this Christmas, promising snowfall, warm fires and breath-taking seasonal romance. Perfect for fans of Carole Matthews, Cathy Bramley and Sarah Morgan. Heidi: her years of wandering and learning / translated from the german of Johanna Spyri by Louise Brooks: a story for children and those who love children". www.e-rara.ch. May 11, 1885. Finn is a real hunk of a man. He’s likened to Thor. He sounds very dreamy and if I’m honest probably too much man for me. He’s the sort of man I could appreciate and I can see why Freya falls for him but never the sort of man I would be with. His brother Zak, on the other hand, seems much more me and I really hope we get a book on Zak.

Heidi grandit (1934), translation of the second Heidi volume ( Heidi kann brauchen, was es gelernt hat) with the addition of an original ending by Charles Tritten, which announces Heidi's further adventures. Yuki and me" (ユキとわたし, Yuki to watashi) sung by Kumiko Osugi. Another rendition of the song is sung by Heidi's voice actress Kazuko Sugiyama. This is a perfect Christmas book and Heidi never lets any one down with her writing and you will be hooked straight away. Plenty of starting life again and being happy with difficulties with families and plenty of romance to but heartbreak along the way as well. The characters are brilliant and you want to curl up on the sofa and escape the world by reading this book.So nice to return to Nightingale Square and catch up with old characters and new ones but you can easily read this a stand alone book. This is the first time we’ve been here for Christmas and it has everything we have come to expect from a Heidi Christmas book. Winterfest is definitely something I could get on board with. I loved the sound of the sessions and I wish there was something like that I could go to. I also always love going to Christmas Markets and for obvious reasons, there won’t be any this year. This really saddens me so I really enjoyed visiting them through this story.... .Emma I realised the ski industry simply didn’t offer flexibility in an easy way, despite the market crying out for it. There are big providers who do great ski holidays, but they buy mass hotel spaces and flights, so they need to make the Saturday to Saturday (or equivalent) method work, or they’re left with empty flights and rooms. Consider adding a topic to this template: there are already 3,648 articles in the main category, and specifying |topic= will aid in categorization.

The characters were all brilliant, funny and lovable....special mention goes out to Finn and Nell, of course!! I love how there are recurring characters and we get a glimpse into their post story lives! The story is like one big cuddle in a book. It is inviting, enthralling, and so beautifully written. It made the dark days feel brighter and gives you a sense that it is never too late to change your life if you don’t like where it is heading or what is happening within it. It is a tale of love, friendship, and doing what is right for you. Heidi's longing to return home and occasional attempts to escape are punctuated by the occasional distractions of new friends. She smuggles a small kitten into the house, and she and Clara care for it until Miss Rottenmeier discovers it and has it thrown out, until Sebastian, the kindly butler, is able to leave the kitten with a friend. Clara's doctor befriends her, and occasionally keeps a benevolent eye on her, but it is Clara's grandmother that has the most impact. On one of her rare visits to Frankfurt, she and Heidi become fast friends. Under her kindly tutelage, Heidi finally learns how to read and write, to the astonishment of the tutor who has struggled for months to do the same. However, the old woman's departure home again proves a turning point for Heidi. Forbidden by Miss Rottenmeier to ever mention or even think of the Alps again, Heidi rapidly goes into a decline, eventually becoming a sleep-walker, whose passage through the hallways is mistaken for that of a ghost, terrorizing the household.

The series was also dubbed in Tagalog in the Philippines on ABS-CBN in 1997, as well as in Cebuano in 2000.

Heidi, Girl of the Alps, a 1974 Japanese anime series directed by Isao Takahata for Zuiyo Eizo (later, Nippon Animation), dubbed into various languages. Compiled into an English- dubbed movie entitled The Story of Heidi. Heidi, based in Bristol, UK and run by two entrepreneur brothers, Marcus Blunt, 39 and Alexander Blunt, 37 is revolutionising the market through their smart technology which allows for multiple and flexible skiing opportunities – rather than the traditional Saturday to Saturday model, or the DIY option, which can be time consuming, expensive and leave travellers stranded without connections or holiday protection. The book is taking us on Freya’s journey after she suddenly moves to Nightingale Square and takes an offered position as a gardener that is needed to prepare Winter Garden for a grand opening. The story is loaded with friendly community banter, romance, grief, new beginnings, battling with mental health issues and much much more. When Freya's friend, mentor, and boss dies she is bereft, then when the new owner of the Suffolk estate where she works makes it clear that he has no interest in maintaining the gardens or the house and definitely doesn't want to pay Freya for her work, she is devastated. But when one door closes another door opens and a chance radio chat show leads her to meet Luke, the owner of Nightingale Square, and a job offer to create a Winter Garden. Anyone who follows me will know that Heidi is my favourite author ever, and this book only proves why that is the case! This is her 11th book and yet, her storytelling continues to resonate with me and leave a place in my heart! I’m quite new to Heidi Swain and I didn’t realise this was part of a series, however it didn’t really matter as it can be read as a stand-alone as the main characters, Finn and Freya are the main focus.
