About this deal

The characters really drew me. I'm interested in all of them and can't wait for more stories from this group of friends. I loved how they supported and cared for each other. But I will admit that the best part of the characters in this group was Travis. There is one scene where he stands up for Georgie to her family. I was cheering him on. Go Travis! He was spot on with the way they dismissed her idea because they saw her as young and not a part of the adults in the room. I loved this better than the group meetings, the apology latte, the wardrobe makeover, and the tear stained face make-up job. Lots of caring in this book. Read with caution, as feelings on this book are very polarizing, but if you like dirty-talking, lightly kinky, dominate men, and you like humor, a fun female MC (I loved her too!), and a super romantic HEA, then try this book. I'll be reading more Tessa Bailey from this point on. A lovely book... I’m here for ALL OF IT. Books by Tessa Bailey are an insta-buy for me. Sally Thorne some part of me still thought of you as my friend's little sister. not anymore. you're all mine now. i'll take you how i want.“

Georgie is over her family and friends not taking her - or her job - seriously. As a clown who performs at parties, it's difficult for her to find someone who views her as an adult, instead of a little kid. Travis has recently injured his shoulder after a successful baseball career and is now in remission. His team no longer wants him, and he can't find a purpose anymore. After he's offered a position as a sport's caster and discovers they're looking for a man who's settled-down, Georgie proffers they fake date. Not only will it help with the job offer, but she desires to expand her business, and having a man by her side may make that easier. me before this book: i can't wait! i've finally found another 5 star romance book! i can't wait for the steamy sex scenes! From metaphors and similes that literally made no sense to cringey dialogue to sexual descriptions that made absolutely no sense, this book needed an editor, bad. Some things I let slide more than others but the phrasing of this book was just SO awkward and I didn’t vibe with the writing at all.

right from the start i have to tell you that i am aghast that this is a published book in 2019. i understand that this is an adult romance and a lot of books in this genre have problematic elements. i don't understand, however, why it is necessary to include them in a 2019 release. the possessiveness, the sexism, all of it is just so wrong and just plainly bad. Georgie herself was surprisingly, not totally unlikable, just naive. But again, that's kind of the plot so I'll let it slide. However, one of her major goals in the book is to make sure "Travis knows his worth." To any younger reader reading this, please know that it is not your job to be your boyfriends therapist. Which is what Travis needs severely. A therapist. Can we please stop writing books that encourage the "I can fix him" narrative? what he said yesterday wasn’t arrogance talking – it was simply more common for women to get attached when sex was part of the equation. basic science, right?” I can only describe the intimate scenes as uncomfortable and kind of gross. It was humorous to hear myself making unintentional sounds of disgust.
