The soundBuds2 offer a carefully balanced sound with a neutral tone and excellent dynamic range. Higher-fidelity sound has been prioritized over ‘signal processing’, so they operate without the phasing artefacts of noise-cancellation. Before you actually use the Cyrus soundBuds, you should choose the best fitting variant from the unfortunately only three attachments, the so-called Ear Tips. The Cyrus soundBuds are made of silicone and have a special shape. This does not apply to the part that is pushed directly into the auditory canal, which is quite conventional. Instead, the Ear Tips of the Cyrus soundBuds have a kind of small bow that helps to hold the Cyrus soundBuds particularly securely in the ear, in this case they are “anchored” in the auricle. The manufacturer refers to this as soft hooks. You don’t have to worry that this could be annoying in any way; on the contrary, they offer excellent wearing comfort. Like battery life for example. The soundBuds 2 has a five hour battery life, with a further 15 hours charge time within the case. It’s not too bad really. Five hours worth of music? That’s a day’s work, easy. The various conversations at the start of Going Down/Love in an Elevator are open, agile and clear, but we’re missing an extra dollop of dynamic build and excitement as the rhythm section of the song proper begins. They lasted for 4hrs 20mins of music at normal listening volume, which is excellent for a true wireless pair.
