About this deal

Messner's engaging text is uncomplicated and direct as she follows the life of Ken as he grows into manhood and fatherhood, making the ocean his life's work. She gets straight to the point, then moves onto the next. Matthew Forsythe's artwork is equally simple, almost primitive in nature. It has all the colors of the ocean in them and adds visual details that help clarify concepts for young children. We also welcome the return of spectators, spectating will however only be available from within the restaurant area as no longer any access to poolside terraces. This year Everyone active will be launching our AGe is just a number campaign on Sunday 1st October which marks the...

For millennia, coral reefs have flourished as one of the planet’s most magnificent natural wonders. As Earth’s most biodiverse ecosystem-surpassing even the rainforests-they are home to a cooperative network ranging from immense fish to sunlight-capturing algae to invisible microbes. Just how critical the microbes in particular are for coral reef health is finally understood thanks to recent discoveries. Coral Reefs in the Microbial Seas is the first book to unveil the complete story of how these relationships uphold coral reef health and what impact human activity has on this delicate balance.I dunno. I am extraordinarily depressed about the world's inaction about the environment as evidenced by the direst possible October 2018 United Nations IPCC landmark report: Stunningly beautiful . . . . I will never look at a coral reef in the same way again and will marvel

AUSTRALIA’S GREAT BARRIER REEF A Handbook on the Corals, Shells, Crabs, Larger Animals and Birds, with some remarks on the Reef’s place in History This is a great book for kids because it shows how one person can make a difference and also shows how kids can make a difference. The story is interesting, both the biographical and nature aspects of it. Ken Nedimyer’s accomplishments are a worthy subject for a book about coral reefs. And I really appreciated learning how people, including young people, can help save coral reefs. It’s inspiring. During the late 1960s and 1970s, massive herds of poisonous crown-of-thorns starfish suddenly began to infest coral reef communities around the world, leaving in their wake devastation comparable to a burnt-out rainforest. In What is Natural?, Jan Sapp both examines this ecological catastrophe and captures the intense debate among scientists about what caused the crisis, and how it should be handled. Made up of countless tiny sea creatures, Ken found them to be just beautiful, and wanted to know everything about them - how the reefs grew so large, why they were different colors and shapes. When Ken Nedimeyer was a boy, his father's job at NASA meant living in Florida, and, for Ken, that meant exploring the ocean.Weekdays (Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays) 3.30pm-8.30pm, Weekends 9am- 5.00pm and 9am - 8.30pm during school holiday periods Pat Hutchings is a Senior Fellow of the Australian Museum. She has worked on coral reefs since the early 1970s and has had a long involvement with the Australian Coral Reef Society. Pat was also an editor of The Great Barrier Reef: Biology, Environment and Management. Chin’s approach makes this book a must-have common core tool for teachers and librarians introducing scientific principals to young students.”

The first reference of its kind, this book represents good biology, well-founded systematics, accessible biogeography, geological history of corals, and one of the finest collections of coral photographs to be found anywhere. Hailed as the single most important reference on reef corals, this book is useful in describing corals in all areas of Oceania and Southeast Asia. It provides a means of identifying almost 1,000 species of coral, a reliable nomenclature, up-to-date information on distribution and abundance, and authoritative notes on structure and biology. The illustrations had me diving right in. They’re gorgeous and immersive. The only thing I was not a fan of was people’s faces straight on. Everything else drew me in. Sessions are currently bookable until 31st March 2024, Including February Half Term 12th -16th February 2024, more dates to follow Reef Fish Identification: Florida, Caribbean, Bahamas.
