Plus, since experts recommend reapplying sunscreen every two hours while in direct sunlight, you can use an invisible sunscreen reapplication mist — like Ultra Violette’s Preen Screen or Naked Sunday’s SPF50+ Glow Mist — to maintain your sun protection coverage without ruining your makeup.

Since that awakening, I've been applying SPF religiously as a part of my morning skin-care routine every day. But for the longest time, I still didn't enjoy it like I did the rest of my creams and serums — I just did it out of obligation. It wasn't until this past year that I began really enjoying putting on sunscreen and it's all because I've found a few formulas that I absolutely love. HOWEVER, I don't even know if there's ACTUALLY a tint! Like, yes there's a color when I first apply, but it's like the pigment literally disappears after your rub it into your face. I've even wiped my hands on my dark grey sleep shirt after applying and it didn't leave color on my shirt? Why wouldn't it do that when it's supposed to be a tinted product? Shouldn't it leave color behind if I wiped it off my hands and onto my shirt? How can a product be "invisible" and tinted at the same time? It's a 100 percent mineral formula with a light tint to it. The texture is my favourite part — it's incredibly lightweight and silky, and dries to a soft, blurred finish that's not matte but also not dewy. It just looks like healthy skin. Very little effort is required to blend it in, which makes the application experience all the more enjoyable. I have a normal skin type, but I find the product hydrating without being greasy. But with so many options, how do you choose? “The most effective SPF is one that fits into your lifestyle, because it’s the best way to ensure it will make its way into your routine,” says board-certified dermatologist Mona Gohara, M.D., associate clinical professor of dermatology at the Yale School of Medicine and member of Prevention’s Medical Review Board.

You know you should never skip sunscreen, but layering on moisturizer, SPF, and foundation can feel like a lot—and, during rushed mornings especially, sun protection easily falls to the wayside in favor of hydration and some necessary coverage. The best tinted sunscreens come in handy for this very reason, because they offer some skin-evening magic while providing SPF protection—cutting out the need for additional products. I mean, if it was meant to go on tinted and then turn clear to "match" your skintone, I feel like that kinda defeats the purpose of a tinted product. I don't understand how this product can 'effortlessly blend into all skintones' with only one color. And it seems everyone struggles with facial SPF for different reasons. Some find that the ingredients irritate their dry and sensitive skin, while others struggle with the way that the oily formulas sit on their already-oily skin. I’m in the latter category. I like a glow, but I find that so many SPF products make my pores look triple their size, and applying any sort of makeup over the top in an attempt to rectify the situation is out of the question (unless I actually want to chase it around my face all day). that violates any law, statute, ordinance or regulation (including, but not limited to, those governing export control, consumer protection, unfair competition, anti-discrimination or false advertising); use of the content you supply does not violate these Terms of Use and will not cause injury to any person or entity.

We updated this article in April 2023 to add more information about each featured product, based on extensive research done by our team. Also, it does have a sunscreen smell. Personally, I don't mind it, but I know there are people who don't want a smell with their sunscreen or facial products in general.
