About this deal

An action figure of Superman based on Kingdom Come's artwork was released as part of Wave 10 of Mattel's DC Multiverse toyline. Justice is a 12-issue limited series published by DC Comics from 2005-2007, created by Jim Krueger, Alex Ross, and Doug Braithwaite. It's a departure from normal continuity, but not quite an Elseworld story. It takes the concepts of the DC Comics characters as they were in the Silver and Bronze Ages and writes a new story using them. The plot concerns the villains reforming and using their abilities to help mankind. Naturally, it's not all as it seems, as the entire plot to "help" humanity requires the use of Brainiac's Mind Control worms. It's up to the assorted superhero teams ( Justice League, Doom Patrol, Teen Titans, Metal Men) to save the day. Ross followed Kingdom Come with Uncle Sam, [12] a non-superhero work for DC's Vertigo line, an experimental work that examined the dark side of American history. Ross drew the lenticular covers for Superman: Forever #1 (June 1998) [19] and Batman: No Man's Land #1 (March 1999). [20] Between 1998 and 2003, writer Paul Dini and Ross produced annual tabloid-sized editions [21] celebrating the 60th anniversaries of DC Comics' Superman ( Superman: Peace on Earth), [22] Batman ( Batman: War on Crime), [23] Shazam ( Shazam! Power of Hope), and Wonder Woman ( Wonder Woman: Spirit of Truth), as well as two specials featuring the Justice League, Secret Origins and Liberty and Justice. [12] 2000s [ edit ] This was the reason Brainiac hit Dr. Sivana with the mind-control worms. Sivana found out about Brainiac's real plan and objected to it, so Brainiac injected him with the worms to keep him from alerting the Justice League.

The photos, however, I stare at for a long time. It's ironic. I don't need to eat. I will never know hunger. I don't know what victims of starvation feel. I can't decide if that is a blessing or a curse. Joker Immunity: Subverted with the Scarecrow, who gets killed by Joker just as he's about to make his escape. Real friendship can survive any revelation. And the heroes of the Justice League… are the truest friends of all.“In April 2022, Ross was reported among the more than three dozen comics creators who contributed to Operation USA's benefit anthology book, Comics for Ukraine: Sunflower Seeds, a project spearheaded by editor Scott Dunbier, whose profits would be donated to relief efforts for Ukrainian refugees resulting from the February 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Ross provided the cover to the hardcover edition of the book. [51] [52] [53]

The production team of Justice League: Warworld planned to develop a film adaptation of the Kingdom Come comic book mini-series, but the idea was discarded by James Gunn and Peter Safran after they were named CEOs of DC Studios. Legion of Doom: Deconstructed. The Legion's leaders have to resort to mind control to get it's members to work together. Otherwise, they're just too selfish and/or insane to stay focused on a single unified goal and would inevitably turn on one another or pursue their own personal vendettas. In this Elseworlds story, Superman and the Justice League abandon their roles as superheroes after the rise and strong public support of a superhero named Magog, who has no qualms about killing—notably the Joker before his trial for the mass murder of the Daily Planet staff, including Lois Lane. In the ensuing years, a newer generation of superpowered metahumans arise. They engage in destructive battles with little distinction between "heroes" and "villains". The narrator, minister Norman McCay, receives apocalyptic visions of the future from a dying Wesley Dodds. The Spectre appears to McCay and recruits him to help pass judgment on the approaching superhuman apocalypse. DC Direct, the collectibles division of DC Comics, has produced three sets of action figures from the comic book Kingdom Come based on Alex Ross's artwork. The first set of figures included Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Hawkman. The second set included Batman, Red Robin, Captain Marvel, and Kid Flash. The last set included Magog, Flash, Armored Wonder Woman, and Deadman. An exclusive figure of Red Arrow was released through ToyFare magazine. DC Direct also released several other Ross-designed characters through their Elseworlds toylines. These figures included the Spectre, Norman McCay, Jade, Nightstar, Aquaman, and Blue Beetle. Ross designed the costume the current incarnation of Batwoman wears; this character has been released in action-figure form by DC Direct as part of its "52" line of toys.
