The A200 horn loaded tweeter inherits the mechanism of the tweeter in our flagship 7001 near field monitor, but with an added phase correction device which greatly improves frequency response and increases sound dispersion. The A200 ribbon tweeter has a very low resistance of about 0.2 Ohm and it works with a transformer. The low resistance brings more current through the ribbon thus rise the SPL of high frequency, which leads to wide frequency response. The speaker cabinets are made of 25mm MDF finished with a cherry veneer. They are only available in this finish, but I think it looks great, so I'm not too worried. These speakers don't come with a front cover either, but I think most people who spend this kind of money on a set of speakers would want to show them off. AirPulse states that the new-gen Bluetooth circuitry is BT5.0 compatible via a Qualcomm chipset and supports codecs up to aptX with an input sample rate of up to 192 kHz. It will pair in the normal fashion with any transmitting source such as your phone or compatible desktop transmitter such as the FiiO BTA30 Pro. USB

More and more audiophiles are taking a serious look at powered speakers, like the AirPulse A300 Pro being reviewed here. The worst part about remote is that it doesn’t feel like it’s been designed specifically for the A80’s, it’s an off the shelf product they’ve included at the last minute which is unfortunate. I’d have preferred the remote control to have the same premium look and feel. I used an audio switcher to perform A/B testing during songs and was able to tell them apart after just a few minutes of listening. The cast aluminum alloy frame of the mid-bass unit not only has superior rigidity but also greatly reduces coloration. I loved the portrayal of Thile’s high-tenor voice, and his bandmates’ harmonizing. I could practically see Thile’s lips pursing as he formed consonants.

The build quality reminds me of Edifiers’ S1000DB, which I gave a 10/10! Airpulse have paid particular attention to all of the smaller details and that culminates into the build quality practically being perfect. They have ensured the finished wood construction is without fault. The speaker cabinets fit together well, there aren’t any mismatched panels or sharp edges to the wood textures, it almost feels like it’s been made out of one piece of wood. The result really is spectacular.

The electric blue option restricts the localities you can place them in.
