About this deal

The glass that makes up the filter itself is important. Any imperfections on the glass will translate to the final image. Many of the top manufacturers are transparent in their use of a German product called Schott B270, which seems to be the industry-leading choice for premium filters. That’s not to say that other types of glass are inferior. For example, Japanese AGC optical glass is also popular in some premium filters. But be wary of manufacturers who either don’t list the specific product or only list optical glass. These filters might not be as good as those whose materials are listed. Ring material Those wanting motion blur in their images (such as when photographing waterfalls) when using an HTC filter may find that they need to use an ND filter more frequently to offset the brighter circular polarizer results. In stark contrast to the 10-stop filter discussed above, the 6-stop filter is one of the worst I have used from any manufacturer. The filter presented results with a noticeable color shift and loss of detail. The color shift was immediately apparent. Even without zooming in, one can quite clearly see the significant magenta shift in the image when compared to the control image. Marumi offers a slightly confusing four distinct ranges of circular polarizers, each with different glass/coating combinations. The DHG Super range gets a water and oil-repellent coating, which works well, easily beading away droplets and resisting fingerprints, albeit not quite as well as the Lee Polariser.

This system means the polarizer is large at 105mm in diameter, allowing it to cover numerous different lens diameters. It’s also very easy to rotate, and it clips into the holder much more easily than trying to screw a conventional polarizer onto your lens. However, the clip-in mechanism is surprisingly difficult to detach again, requiring more squeeze than is comfortable. Another consideration is the combined filter, holder and adapter ring cost, which is significant. For example, if you are shooting a mountain scene against blue skies and harsh sun your pictures may take on a “washed out” appearance. Polarizers are notoriously essential for landscape photographers. But you shouldn’t ignore them in portraiture, architecture, sports, product, or any other photographic discipline where reflective surfaces will be present. The benefit of a circular polarizer is that you can rotate the front of the filter to dial in the desired amount of filtration, allowing for ultimate creative control over your images. With the best polarizing filters, your photographs will be even better. Slim rims: Filters that have larger rims can potential cause a vignette effect on your photos. That is why looking for filters with slim rims is particularly useful. The P1 Mobile kit comes with a universal mobile mounting clip and filter holder to attach the included polarizing and graduated filters. NiSi manufactures its P1 Prosories using the same high-quality optical glass and coatings as the rest of its product line, albeit in a much smaller size. This enables the P1 kit to be incredibly inexpensive when compared to other mobile filter kits. Light rays which are reflected by any surface become polarised and polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your camara lens. They allow you to remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass etc. They also enable colors to become more saturated and appear clearer, with better contrast. This effect is often used to increase the contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds. HOYA's polarising filters do not affect the overall color balance of a shot. How to select the correct Polarising filter

You are entitled to exhibit the Work commercially on a limited basis (that being in a physical art gallery, a restaurant, a café or a hotel only) or privately, subject to any exhibiting restrictions the Artist has attached to the Work (as listed on the Gallery).

This phenomenon shows up in the visual appearance of the filter only and has no effect on the photograph (transmitted) image at all." [Schneider Optics] to the human eye when viewing high intensity reflected light that "bounces" off the actual polarizing foil. The Hasselblad UV filters use a double-sided 30-layer optical coating with low-reflective properties and an average light transmission of over 98.5%. Hasselblad says the UV filter ‘is able to realize a wide UV cutoff of 300nm to 410nm, eliminating blue and purple flares to restore colours accurately and faithfully.’ Spotting Scopes Swarovski Spotting Scopes Vortex Spotting Scopes Celestron Spotting Scopes Zeiss Spotting Scopes Eyepieces, Mounts, Cases and Accessories Telescopes Celestron Telescopes Telescope Eyepieces, Filters and Accessories The end of a circular polarizer filter rotates continuously in either direction, allowing you to dial in just the right amount of effect.Circular Polarising 】Effectively filter out harmful reflections on non-metallic surfaces such as water and glass, Rotate the filter to achieve the correct amount of filtration required. With CPL,you can make the sky bluer, the leaves greener, reduce or eliminate reflections, and the final image is clearer. At Photokina 2014, Schneider Optics introduced new HTC versions of their Kasemann polarizer filters. As a further condition of using the Gallery, you must indemnify us against all direct, quantifiable, and reasonable Loss suffered by us and/or our representative (whether If you're using a polarizer that's on the cheaper end, you can sometimes see color casts introduced into your images. This isn't ideal, but you can easily fix this issue in post-processing.

Gaining an extra stop means that shutter speeds can be twice as fast, better stopping both subject and camera motion. Many circular polarizer (and ND) filters impart a color cast to images captured with the filter in place and being color-neutral is a true advantage. B+W’s premium XS-Pro circular polarizers come in a huge range of thread diameters to suit lenses from tiny Micro Four Thirds optics through to beefy large aperture super-teles. A cheaper ‘F-Pro’ range is also available, but at the time of writing, the price difference isn’t vast. Think about where the darkened skies will be at various times of the day based on the sun's position in the sky and apply that knowledge to your composition. One of the most overlooked factors in deciding on a polarizer is its filter factor. You will always lose a certain amount of light due to using a polarizing filter. The specific amount is called the “filter factor.” It is most often referred to by a number by which the normal exposure time must be multiplied to compensate for the use of that specific filter. For example, a polarizer with a filter factor of 2x requires twice as much exposure–or 1-stop–to make the same image with a polarizer as without.

HASSELBLAD ANNOUNCES CPL, ND8 AND UV FILTERS FOR AN ENHANCED SHOOTING EXPERIENCE AND NEW ECO-FRIENDLY VANDRA CAMERA STRAP

These filters can be used with almost any modern DSLR camera/lens rig and do not cause the metering errors seen when using linear filters. It is a known cosmetic side effect (artifact) of the high performance polarizing foils that Schneider/B+W uses in its True-Pols to produce a "ripple reflection" These Nikon filters enable shooting through glass windows and minimize glare from reflective surfaces and are compatible with both color and monochrome photography. It is always a good idea to keep your filters clean with a cleaning accessory and this stands true with CPL’s. A filter which has water spots, dust or other grime will sometimes degrade the final image, and can show as minor softening or blur in the photograph.
