About this deal

Like its predecessor, The 13-Storey Treehouse, this 26-storey version is a riot of kookyness and fun that is very typically the result of a Griffiths/Denton mirthful intermingling. Once again, Andy and Terry have created a masterful, timeless book that both engages children deep into a good read, makes them laugh, and opens up their brains and crams magic inside. Iconic, memorable and heartwarming, this is yet another winner for kids (and big kids) everywhere. A bumper car rink, a skate ramp (with a crocodile-pit hazard), a mud-fighting arena, an anti-gravity chamber, an ice-skating pond (with real, live, ice-skating penguins), a recording studio, a mechanical bull named Kevin, an ATM (that’s an automatic tattoo machine, in case you didn’t know), an ice cream shop with 78 flavors served by an ice cream-serving robot called Edward Scooperhands, and the maze of doom - a maze so complicated that nobody who has ever gone in has ever come out” - these are some things you will encounter if you read the book The 26-Story Treehouse by Andy Griffiths, illustrated by Terry Denton. When Andy and Terry began to write their book, a giant gorilla started shaking the tree yelling, “BANANA!” Then a chauffer arrives, informing Terry has won the Barky the Barking Dog drawing competition and gets to meet Barky. But squished by the giant gorilla. As the duo loses hope. 13 flying cats, lead by Silky, began fighting the gorilla. Which was successful. The canaries then lift the gorilla away. The 13-Storey Treehouse won the Australian Book Industry Awards Book of the Year for Older Children 2012 [4] [5] and the 2012 COOL Award for Fiction for Older Readers. [6] Plot [ edit ] PDF / EPUB File Name: The_26-Storey_Treehouse_-_Andy_Griffiths.pdf, The_26-Storey_Treehouse_-_Andy_Griffiths.epubAuthor: Andy Griffiths - Australian author of over 20 books concentrating on nonsense with a lot of child appeal. This time, the two friends have a whole week to finish their next book, and Andy even knows what it should be about—the story of how he and Terry first met. But, life is NEVER boring in the treehouse, and emergency shark operations, giant storms, and wooden pirate heads are just the beginning…. The book begins with the narrator and fictional depiction of the author, Andy Griffiths, giving an introduction to himself, his friend and illustrator Terry Denton, and their treehouse. Especially good for reluctant readers as it is heavily illustrated and VERY funny . . . This really is the coolest treehouse ever!, Angels & Urchins

After the first book, I knew there would be more adventures of Terry and Andy, but I hadn’t expected double the number of floors on the treehouse! This book is more of the merry adventures of Terry, Andy and Jill. The flying cats return and many other favorites from the first book make an appearance, but this is a fresh story too, perfect for fans to get even more of the humor and silliness of the series. Unlike similar books the narrative is strong enough to stand on its own, and so are the illustrations - it works on many levels. There's a mudfighting arena, the Maze of Doom and even an ice cream parlour with 78 different flavours (I must admit, I was expecting more) served by a specialed robot created by Edward Scooperhands.Illustrator: Terry Denton - Australian author and illustrator has a very popular partnership with Griffiths, but has illustrated books for others including Paul Jennings, Mem Fox and Gillian Rubinstein. It's funny. I laughed. The kids laughed. The teen stole the book before we'd finished so she could show her friend's at school. We enjoyed it. However, Andy is still upset with how he and Terry haven't got their book done, but Terry suggests that they write what happened that day. They write the events up and with the help of Jill in a Santa-like sleigh, get their book to Mr Big Nose for it to be published. Blake, Jason (September 23, 2013).
