Of these three headphones, the LCD2C is the smoothest and warmest, yet it still does better than the HD 600 at retrieving details from the music with its good transient response. It allows you to chill out and have an easy listen but also rewards you for paying attention. Bass is a real highlight, tight and with good extension and texture and a very even tone, though somewhat less punch than either of the other two headphones. Despite the warm tilt, it images well and the soundstage is not bad. Its two primary flaws are that 1) the warmth is sometimes too much and 2) the smoothness (which I think comes from a wet sound) isn’t always appropriate to the music and can make the LCD2C sound slow. The warmth can be solved with some mild EQ but the wetness is just in this headphone’s nature.
