The power button and a mode button for toggling between video capture, stills and playback are found on the left-hand side. Unless you are driving in very well-lit night conditions, you probably won’t be able to make out much detail. Please select 'Mass Storage' on the Dash Cam screen and then OK so that only that displays on the screen.

Thanks to its lowly 720p video resolution, the 112 doesn’t deliver video quality at anything like the level of its 512GW sibling.The compact design allows for discreet placement on your windshield, ensuring it doesn’t obstruct your view while capturing essential footage. However, the power cable itself uses a captive cigarette lighter adapter, so will restrict you from using the dashcam at the same time as a sat-nav, unless you have an alternative way of powering the latter. High Definition recording and a 120° wide-angle view, the Nextbase 112 is perfect for providing you with instant video footage while on the roads. If 720p isn’t low enough resolution, there are also WVGA (720 x 480) and VGA (640 x 480) modes available.You will need a separate power supply and SD card as it will not connect to your 112, but can be used as a Camera facing rearwards.

Please turn Parking Mode off and turn Screen Saver off as these could interfere with the test results. If you reside in these regions, you can benefit from our expertise and have your Carplay/Android Auto screen professionally installed without hassle. However, the built-in battery is only rated for 30 minutes, and although the unit isn’t recording all the time, it won’t last a very long time in this mode. In the event of an incident, the clear and crisp footage is perfect for providing instant evidence to support an insurance claim and proving you weren’t at fault.

The 112 is designed to be as simple to use as possible, with a bright 2” LED screen to view the menu and adjust the camera’s settings.

A USB charging cable is also provided, although mysteriously this is shorter than its sibling for some reason. If the Dash Cam does not appear as a drive on your PC, please press the reset button on the underside of your Dash Cam and try all the USB ports on your computer.
