About this deal

They advised me the best beer is Bass, but because they are a Young’s outlet we have Special, which is on that path. If it’s launching in December as stated, the new label – if there is a different one – will have been signed off months ago. Marketing does not insult the intelligence of everyone it touches and debase every brand it is employed upon; A-B Inbev insult the intelligence of everyone they touch and debase every brand they work on.

Perhaps a deal could have been struck between Coors and Interbrew to prevent this: but why would Coors help Interbrew protect one of the inherent strengths of a now-competitor brand? Pre-COVID I could get Marston’s (my favorite bottled beer) when I lucky and was happy to get Taylor’s Landlord at times. The brewing business was put up for sale and ultimately sold unconditionally to Interbrew of Belgium. As I pointed out in response, it’s great that they want to talk to British drinkers about the success of a British-brewed beer overseas. I’m now retired after 48 inglorious years in the telecoms industry and it’s all ‘mouth and trousers’ as the polite expression goes. The funny thing is, beneath all the hoo-ha about the clumsy re-brand, there is actually something interesting going on: Pedigree is now bottle-conditioned. I am also a historian or, as a friend put it, a ‘socio-geographer’ looking for the connections between people and place. With most tourists being from the US, it was interesting to note their initial responses to drinking beer at cellar temperature, considering they’d been brought up on almost ice-cold dispense.

Each month, a different beer blogger hosts The Session, chooses a topic and creates a round-up listing of all the participants, along with a short pithy critique of each entry (see link, posted to comments in due course). Since they’re still in 500ml bottles, they’ll stick out like a sore thumb in your average supermarket PBA Midlands section next to the Holdens, Everards etc. Both are very disappointing does anyone know if there is real beer/ale that has the taste of the original British beer/ales.As well as the Marston’s one, there’s also the Tennent’s-brewed Bass that’s still popular in Northern Ireland. But this new Pedigree logo is not on the level of its predecessor, which was, in its own way, more in keeping with a timeless “Ford” or “Coca-Cola” type of logo. Well said, I think that must be one of the best articles you’ve ever written, dissecting a total load of bolox from a bunch of cockwombles who probably think bass is a fish. Harding's theory is that neither communism nor colonialism are proper in foreign lands like Vietnam, but rather a "Third Force"—usually a combination of traditions—works best.

I find the cask version quite bland, but frustratingly it is (like its cousin Bass) only a few steps and maybe some extra dry hops away from being a nice beer. One in particular was fundamental – history will record Bass as owning the world’s first registered trademark – the red triangle – registered in 1876. Please note that for some countries listed below, there may be custom clearance charges, duty or taxes upon receipt. Fermented in our unique Burton Union set of 24 oak barrels to give Pedigree its one-of-a-kind taste. The red triangle sold not only within the empire but across continental Europe and across North America. One of the local breweries is Devil’s Backbone, where you can enjoy their seasonal beers as well as good food in their brew pub. c) They couldn’t even be bothered to find an image of what UK Bass will look like to accompany the announcement of its relaunch. For starters, the design just isn’t as cool as its creators think it is, as Charlie ‘The Crafty Beeress’ Worthington confirmed when she asked a graphic designer pal what they made of the new branding: ‘ I think the boat has sailed on all that distressed looking type stuff that BrewDog were doing 7 years ago.
