About this deal

My last collie learned to walk nicely using a lupi harness when he was young and would walk closely on a loose lead for the rest of his life after that - my current collie pulled against it till it rubbed so we ditched it for him and we're still working on nice on lead walking (he's usually off lead so it's taking us a while to work on on lead manners). I reccomend the canny collar too, I got it for Dixie after she had been spayed and it was really good. This harness contains a special feature that converts the dog’s forward movement into an upward lift. There are reviews which say it causes terrible rubbing etc etc which to be honest, if it is right for your dog it will not.

I would advice against using the lupi if your bulldog really does pull, it 'can' cause terrible rubbing under the front legs! was ok with a harness for a while, but then started pulling then got caught in some wire so we didnt use that again, so we tried the head halti, which he was ok with the first day then mad as ever. And a harness is also better for pets with neck or spinal problems, since it places an even force across the chest, not the neck. This simple figure-of-eight harness converts forward motion into an upward lift encouraging the dog to stop pulling. This simple figure of eight harness incorporates a special feature that converts the dog's forward movement into an upward lift. You can't imagine how frustrated I was, after thingking 'that harness looks great' and not being able to find it! We bought a harness for jasper that is metal with black rubber pads that goes round his chest and under his legs.

Anyway i was going to have a look at these as Zeb is a puller and normal harness make him pull harder (think its a malamute in him! Several of my grooming "clients" have Lupis - they are also meant to be v good for dogs with back problems apparently. This is because the harness in the figure of eight transforms a forward movement into an upward movement. I have tried lots of harnesses and head collars but none seemed to work so I am hoping this will but obviously don't want to waste money if you think it wont work. Great in almost every way except it needs a toggle to keep the bit that attaches to the lead from slipping back, a knot just won't do if the dog is to wear it to run about off lead.

He's at his worst when he needs a poo in the mornings ( I haven't got a garden, so can almost understand this ) but it still happens when he doesn't. It can be used in a number of ways: either as a passive means to simply stop dogs pulling, or as an active training aid. As soon as Jimmy starts pulling towards the park - go straight in the other direction, even if it means he never makes it to the park. I have another harness, mikki one i think which is marginally better but the fight we have to get it on just isn't worth it. Direct-Vet carries various anti traction head collars (Lupi or Sporn) to prevent your dog from pulling on its lead.
