For example, in Isadora Moon Meets the Tooth Fairy, when Isadora loses her first tooth, she is excited to meet the Tooth Fairy and learns that the Tooth Fairy is in need of her help. The illustrations are a mix of black and white sketches and colorful spreads, and they help to bring the magical world of Isadora Moon to life. None of the other books ‘follow on’ in a sequel sense, although they do have some links which I’ll share just for fun below. It was about an old woman who trailed the streets of our town after dark, dragging chains behind her that clinked and clanked all night long.Whether read aloud with a parent or enjoyed independently, the Isadora Moon series is sure to spark the imagination and enjoyment of kids.
If that’s not exciting enough, when you sign up to receive your downloadable pack, you’ll also receive a special storytelling video from Harriet Muncaster just before the day, and be entered into our competition to win the ultimate Isadora Moon Sleepover! She’s just starting school in the first story, so I she is probably somewhere between five and seven, maybe eight. After reading the Mercy Watson series and then the Princess in Black series, both of which my 4 (almost 5) year old granddaughter adored (carries them with her wherever she goes and soon had them memorized so “reads” them to herself now), I had trouble finding other age-appropriate chapter books that still have pictures to hold her interest (she enjoys picture books still, but prefers chapter books, when we can find). Isadora's grandmother, who is a full vampire, doesn't always approve of Isadora's fairy side, and Isadora's fairy grandmother can be critical of her vampire side. The US publisher, Random House Books for Young Readers, made a few minor changes to the books to suit American readers. Another aspect of the Isadora Moon series that is sure to delight young readers is the beautiful illustrations.
