About this deal

Kakeru is an amiable student who flunks all of his pop quizzes, and the handsome Yamato is capable of anything other than making friends. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. I Cannot Reach You winds the clock back in Volume 6 to the time Yamato and Kakeru were in elementary school together – and were the same height! The siblings are very close (we learn in the flashback at the end of the volume that this is because they’re in a single parent family, cared for by their working mother, although this is not the whole story by any means).

Frieren is still going strong continuing from last season, but The Dangers in My Heart is the one stealing the spotlight! Mika, although often resorting to chibi versions of the children, is especially good at showing us what’s going on by her characters’ facial expressions. This helps each of them feel more like their own complete character rather than just half of the main couple. His jealousy, his possessiveness, his yearning to be more than “just friends”… But Yamato is absolutely terrified of losing his best friend Kakeru if he ever admits the truth that he is and has been in love with him forever. Due to this unprecedented incident, Yamato, who has been secretly admiring Kakeru for quite some time, may never reach his heart. I also like that both characters are really quite normal and sensible when it comes to the situation.

Joking aside, this is a fairly conventional BL manga, but one that still managed to captivate and draw me in with its likeable main characters and romantic tension.

It’s interesting to see events from Mikoto’s perspective – although as the chapter revolves around the hair accessory which Yamato brought back for her from Kyoto, we not only observe her with her peers (and one cheerful boy in her class who undoubtedly has feelings for her but doesn’t quite know how to express them), we also see – again – that Yamato’s classmate Hosoda has a more than passing interest in her. I thought about waiting until I could give you a complete review, but this manga started in 2018 and it’s still releasing so I have no clue when it will be complete. Yamato, now the taller (and possibly the more emotionally mature of the two) knows what he wants – commitment – from Kakeru, but Kakeru, lacking in self-confidence (and maybe just not ready to commit to a romantic relationship) constantly ducks out, runs away, disappears whenever Yamato makes a move.
