About this deal

It’s more detailed and looks better, but I still prefer the older one because of the nostalgic touch. Legs with belt got a colour update – they are now dark blue, and the belt got a few more details too. Included minifigures are Luke Skywalker (Tatooine, Disguise, Final duel), Han Solo (Smuggler, Disguise), Princess Leia, Ben Kenobi, Darth Vader, Chewbacca, R2-D2, C-3PO, Emperor Palpatine, Grand Moff Tarkin, an Imperial Officer, Moff Tian Jerjerrod, R3-M3, 2 Stormtroopers, 2 Royal Guards, a Death Star Droid, 2 Death Star Troopers, and 2 Death Star Gunners. Brickset, the Brickset logo and all content not covered by The LEGO Group's copyright is, unless otherwise stated, ©1997-2024 Brickset ltd. A: Yes, the Death Star Lego set is part of the Lego Star Wars collection and is designed to be compatible with other sets in the collection.Includes 23 minifigures: Grand Moff Tarkin, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Imperial Navy Officer, Imperial Officer, 2 Stormtroopers, 2 Death Star Troopers, 2 Emperor's Royal Guards, 2 Death Star Gunners, Death Star Droid, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, C-3PO, Han Solo, Han Solo (disguise), Luke Skywalker (Tatooine), Luke Skywalker (disguise) and Luke Skywalker (final duel), plus R2-D2, an Imperial Astromech and a Dianoga trash compactor monster. It's appealing in its aesthetic and perhaps one of the most accurate sets, but certainly isn't playable. The ion cannon has been redesigned, and the Technic missile launcher has been replaced with two spring-loaded green missiles, meant to represent laser bolts.

When the first LEGO Death Star was released, the one thing I couldn’t understand is why this part was chosen to be Luke’s hair.

Now, I can see how it look's in special places inside the Deathstar, i think it is the best LEGO Star Wars Set ever. It could be argued that it’s because of LEGO Star Wars that fans now have such big sets across other themes.

You did seem to have better luck (or maybe worse, depending on how you look at it) with the leftover pieces: I am still wondering where a 1x10 dark bley plate and a 1x4 light bley plate have to go. The Death Star has so many components, and it's going to be difficult to know where to start when attempting to create a scale model of the weapon of mass destruction. Some structures from the galaxy far, far away are a lot more complex to adapt into the world of plastic than others. There is a huge rumour from a galaxy far far away that LEGO will be releasing an 11,000 piece LEGO Star Wars Death Star some time this year. All images of LEGO products and scans of original building instructions are copyright The LEGO Group. Pictures from the left side will be from set 10188 (2008) and the right side from the set 75159 (2016). Features a superlaser control room, Imperial conference chamber, hangar bay with moving launch rack and detachable TIE Advanced with space for Lord Vader inside, Emperor Palpatine’s throne room, Droid maintenance room, detention block, trash compactor, tractor beam, cargo area, turbo laser with spring-loaded shooters and seats for the 2 Death Star gunners, and 2 movable turbo laser towers.
