About this deal

That’s why, with the help of an interior designer, I created new colours for the original, classic Tidy Books bookcase. This book reminds millions of motorcyclists why their bike gives them the freedom to be exactly who they want to be: to say ‘I’m doing my thing. I find it hard when those in the biking fraternity are negative and rude about Henry Cole, especially when he has done so much in promoting motorcycling, and done it with humour and including the genius of Sam Lovegrove and Allen Millyard. He was responsible for a national system of art and science education, and in collaboration with the Prince, developed the South Kensington area as the intellectual quarter of London. Likewise GS BMW's apparently ,then he relates the tale of his Russian ride on one and how it was probably the best bike for the job.

Parallels between the fugitive and the farmer’s daughter establish themselves visually when the latter gazes from behind a door, terrified at this threat. From the beloved illustrator and author of A Nest for Celeste comes Brambleheart, a beautiful tale about nature, imagination, and how love is the greatest thing we build. Eg “The food in Croatia is fantastic” which it is and later “I’ll only eat sausage egg and beans no matter where I am”. It is a manual on how to make something of your life even when it looks like the whole thing is going to be shit.I’m not sure Henry is exactly at peace with the world but I think he is probably closer than many others will ever be. Henry Cole has written two books: A Biker's Life (2018) [9] and The Life-Changing Magic of Sheds (2020).

From construction to maintenance, from foundations to roof to damp-proofing in between (“nobody wants rusty nuts”), here is all the practical information you need to start your own shed odyssey, delivered in Henry’s inimitable style. Drawn in monochrome pencil on rough-textured paper, the broad, full-page and full-spread rural scenes give the encounter a shadowy, atmospheric setting. Henry's passion for motorbikes began at the age of eight, when he was first introduced to a 'man cave'.It’s a book about mindfulness, it’s a book about how people can turn their lives around even when the chips are down, it’s a book about following your dreams and most of all, it’s a bloody good read. One of the signs that families used to leave out for slaves running for freedom was a blanket over a fence.

I belong to a book club and our "topic" was (auto)biographies and I chose this one as I have been watching Find it Fix it. Portrayed, not only as an exhibitor, museum director and educationalist, but also as a galvanic force administering salutary shocks over broad areas of Victorian life. By the end of his life Henry Cole was recognised as a national institution, "Old King Cole", though he was also treated with caution as a "playful monster". An author’s note details the Civil War stories Cole heard as a young boy and underscores his intention of showing not the division, anger, and violence of the Civil War, but “the courage of everyday people who were brave in quiet ways.Henry Cole's unusual and original rendering of the Underground Railroad speaks directly to our deepest sense of compassion. This is an honest and endearing revelation of an interesting life with the love of motor bikes always present. Cole is also the founder and CEO of bespoke motorcycle manufacturer Gladstone Motorcycles, named after his great uncle Dick "Red Beard" Gladstone.

Henry Cole's upfront honest sometimes off the wall, Mad cap narrative is very captivating, and Wittey, about his life and passion for Motorcycles, do give this book a read, it will boost your passion for Motorcycles I'm sure. The addiction and privilege I had heard about but the story of the struggle to overcome both is harrowing at times.Henry Cole manages to inject so much of his down-to-earth personality into this book that it feels like you are just having an extended conversation with him in his shed. In this beautiful wordless picture book, Spot the cat finds a dog named Dot who’s off on her own adventure through the city! Henry Cole is on television most days of the year as the presenter of shows like Shed and Buried, the World's Greatest Motorcycle Rides and The Motorbike Show.
