This is Terry Jones attempt at telling Viking sagas in the way that he hoped they would be, full of adventure and excitement. Erik sets out with a crew of all ages and professions from his village, including Harald, a Christian missionary who does not believe the myths.Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. By turns adventurous, humorous, and philosophical, this is a sort of melancholic Odyssey where they seek to “sail beyond the sunset,” but unlike Odysseus, they are sure at every step that they are doomed.

Bottom line; 'The Saga of Erik the Viking' is a very good children's book and a significant product of the (sadly now departed) creative imagination of Terry Jones. Vincent Canby of The New York Times gave it 3 out of 5 and wrote: "Doesn't measure up to the best of the Python films, but it consistently entertains through the occasional gags that do not work and dialogue that is sometimes obscured by sound effects. As Erik and his brave band of men adventure forth their courage, strength, skill, wit and intelligence will be tested to the utmost. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.Amadeus star Tom Hulce was originally going to star as Erik, but he decided instead to pursue his stage career.
