About this deal
The melon that people are smelling is calone, which is a molecule that was invented and emerged in perfumery in the ‘80s. It is fruity with the melon/peach/apricot/rhubarb tang, but not overly so as the florals blend in well. Sure, the first spray can be overwhelming, and it's capable of bothering my throat in a way only things I'm allergic do, but once it settles and those hidden floral notes come out, its a whole different experience.
Right after spraying it, the fruits and flowers make the most beautiful, and also very 90's concoction that reminds me on my childhood and make me smile. I know more developed noses than mine won’t like that I’ve pegged this as a mature scent, but I’m sorry, it is!Always a very hardworking woman championing the many charity causes she supported and being a voice to so many. It just smells very synthetic and cheap to my nose (I think it's the melon that smells very synthetic). this xmas so i thought ill give it a miss , then i spotted this little gem cautiously i thought will i like it as much as lizzies other perfume in the ranges , but i thought at a 10. Apparently, all the perfumes she tried she didn't like, plus a lot of perfumes smelled alike to her and she ended up layering several perfumes to get one scent she would like. Top notes are Melon, Lily-of-the-Valley, Freesia, Peach and Galbanum; middle notes are Rhubarb, Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine, Rose and Spices; base notes are Amber, Sandalwood, Musk and Vetiver.
I love Angel (The Godmother of gourmand perfume) but I need different things now to round up my perfume collections. But when the melon settles down it evolves to a creamy-floral and peachy scent with a little powder over it. I personally think they are colour codes for a reason, Diamonds and Emeralds is Spring, Diamonds and Sapphires is Summer, Diamonds and Rubies is Autumn/Winter and White Diamonds is Christmas. I honestly really didn't appreciate it, so it just sat ignored until this morning when I grabbed the bottle and thought this will do.
Any of the Diamonds perfumes requires a specific taste in fragrances because obviously it can really attack the senses but it was another hit on Elizabeth Taylors brand!
