About this deal

Since then, Nextbase has developed quite a large range of dash cams, so it’s a surprise that this is our first experience of the brand in this area – although we have come across the company’s other products, for example with the Walking Cinema Portable DVD Player. Built in gps so easy to where you were going (when playing videos from SD card), WiFi so it can be paired with phone and can download videos directly from dash cam. Its audio recording, GPS capabilities, and automatic recording feature contribute to its overall functionality and convenience. Take your Dash Cam inside and plug it into mains power or a computer using the Nextbase provided USB cable.

This means that you can send the videos straight to your smartphone or tablet to view and share the footage. Works in conjunction with your front facing Nextbase 512GW Dash Cam, with both cams recording at full 1080p HD at 30 fps.

Please check that your Camviewer app is on the latest version available and that your phone has Wi-Fi turned on. the speed on the GPS is a little slow to update not the end of the world but could show you speeding when in fact you have already slowed to the right speed. The front cam is attached via a suction mount, while the rear camera is attached the rear windscreen via adhesive mount - which means it shouldn't ever fall off even if you slam your boot door hard. When you set up the front dash cam, it'll ask what position it's placed (top left, top right etc) too.

The 512GW (GPS WiFi) offers high-resolution video quality and a built-in WiFi system for easily accessing video clips on a smartphone. As demonstrated by the grab below, you might be able to read a plate in low light when you’re close to the vehicle in front, but passing cars tend to be quite blurry.

I seem to remember being told if you want some other position, just unplug and plug back in the rear camera leaving the main unit powered (don't quote me). With both units plugged in all the time I believe you do not even get the "where do you want the rear view" question - it assumes you still want it where you last selected it.
