DAZCOS US Size Adult Chi Chi Blue Dress Cosplay Costume

In some of the newer games and media young Chi-Chi's design has more blue-ish green, so I got quite some comments why I didn't go for that color version, but I think this bold green is a lot better. To be honest, I couldn't really point out in the design what these were, so I ended up just making small covers to have the effect. Lots of people wanted to make pictures of us when we were talking and he even had a "master Roshi approves of this" sign with him.

People weren't necessarily impressed with the costume or act, but they said it was really nice to see an "old" design character, considering most cosplay competitions here nowadays are filled with people in big fantasy armors in likewise styles (not that there is anything wrong with that, but you see a lot of likewise outfits in a competition over here). Back to my story: I started off with making a pattern from a foam head that is almost the same size as my own head. In Chi-Chi's character design most of her hair pieces are quite "square" and I decided I wanted to literally recreate this effect. I always think it's funny how parts look burned so quickly, but nothing of that will be visible after undercoating and painting! So, even though I told myself "no more competitions for a while", I signed up for a local competition with this costume.

I’ve considered writing up a glove tutorial eventually since I wanted to toss one together for Sora’s (since a tutorial for that is non-existent) XD I’ve come across a few here and there.

If I would re-do this part, I would have made the seamline less obvious, but I'm still quite happy with how this turned out! In general I don't make much pictures of that process, as it's incredibly boring to do and to watch people do! I like with Lilith how she comes over as very sexy, but is still quite clothed (she only has bare shoulders).After being happy with the shape and a lot of sanding, I started measuring out where all the details were going to be.

This was the base for version 2, I was a lot more pleased with this one and started shaping it more to become like Chi-Chi's helmet! I did a lot of test rounds at home and was wearing the costume since 6AM that morning without any problems and when it was almost time for me to get on stage (around 3PM) parts started to malfunction, so I got quite stressed thinking "what if something breaks or falls off on stage?Because of all the waiting for drying I was going through, I decided to draw a face on the wighead (also because the wighead was already showing a lot of damages because of the heating shaping I did on it), so eh try to not pay too much attention to it.
