It could've been simple like that and then I would have finished the book with a smile on my face and never would I think, "Well this book just got stupid. I usually love Paige Toon novels and I did find myself absorbed in this one, but I just didn’t find it as convincing as her other novels. Understandably, it can be difficult to enjoy a book when the main character (and a lot of the others) make some very morally incorrect actions.

I think I made it 15 pages in before I just couldn't ignore how annoyed I was getting at the author's writing style. If you pick up one of my novels, I hope that you will experience every emotion along with my characters, from love, passion and grief, to heartache, happiness and hope. People are not what they may seem and some shocking things happen to change Daisy's course at various points.

She raises this book above the usual chick lit fare by setting the story in the world of Formula 1 racing. Paige Toon grew up between England, Australia and America and has been writing books set in sun-drenched locations around the world since 2007. I have to admit I didn’t warm to Will at first, the guy Daisy falls hopelessly in love with, but as Daisy and he got chatting more I found him an OK character. Also I felt like there were a few storylines that weren’t quite resolved and that left me feeling a little bit unsatisfied.

We left Chasing Daisy 6 months after Wills death where Daisy had finally realised she was in love with Luis, he was her guy, and they had moved in together.It’s always the characters that make me read Paige Toon’s books, they are complex, flawed they are human. There is no incentive for me to continue reading, because honestly, I don't give a damn about what happens to Daisy. We find this out pretty early on in the book and we find out he cheated on her multiple times, just for those not aware of Toon's last book.

I was not sure if I would like this book when I got it but I must say that this is my favorite British chick lit.

Although I have read it a few times it always gets me, it is definitely a tear jerker and a page turner, especially during Will's crash and the aftermath. Daisy, our protagonist, is and/or was heartbroken by a character in one of Paige Toon's previous books Johnny Be Good. But on the other hand the main actors of one book are still present in other books, so it feels like you get a bit of the whole story with every book youre reading.
