About this deal

And the fact that Sky Blast can be carried on top of Payload or docked in Astroscope's satellite mode fits right in with what this set is doing.

Every year, the Botropolis High Council selects citizens to serve and protect on one needy world, though from all appearances, the only thing the worlds need protection from is rogue Go-Bots. Overair, Ironworks and the Astro Squad are redeco’d to match the color scheme of WFC-E24 Sky Lynx (sold separately, subject to availability). The two vehicle halves fit together with a 5mm peg and are quite sturdy - and like other Micromasters, are too big for the roads and bridges of this base. It is some repaints, but it is a very very good set, great decos and the added booster rocket accessory is very nice to have. Overair, Ironworks and the Astro Squad are redeco'd to match the color scheme of WFC-E24 Sky Lynx (sold separately, subject to availability).

But to undertake this task, redecos of two Micromaster teams and two modulators, plus a clone of Doubledealer’s ICBM are on the job!

That set is already not great, but the retail release is just a pretty much objectively better color scheme. Overair’s land battleship mode could likewise just be another layout of the mission control facility. It doesn’t entirely tell the story, since it doesn’t resolve whether Sky Lynx eventually gets rescued. Ironworks is arguably the same character in new colors - generally not a move popular with fans of these toys - while Overair is the Japanese name of the Micromasters jet that came with their release of the airport base. Overall: Hasbro could have gone the extra mile with a separate launch pad and solid rocket boosters.

Sky Lynx has indigestion somewhere out in the cosmos so low and behold, a new Galactic Odyssey begins on the well traveled fan-favorite never-heard-of-it-before planet of Botropolis. There's nothing bad about it, but it was released way after Christmas with non-recognizable characters during a period of new product announcements and some of the best revisions to the main cast in years. Overair is named for the Japanese version of Airwave, but since he has the same color scheme as Airwave, Overair’s color scheme is all new.All of the characters are Autobots, so it’s not even like these guys are waiting to try to take down the shuttle team with a well-placed missile strike. It's a clever retool that gives you a toy not entirely unlike what was sold during the original run of the Micromasters, but at the cost of some play functionality.
