French drone manufacturer has made a second product announcement this month, with the launch of a new Bebop 2: the Bebop 2 Power. The Parrot Bebop 2 is equipped with a 14 megapixel wide angle camera, capable of taking mesmerising photos as well as recording with full HD 1080p video stabilised on 3 axes. Getting photos and movie clips off the drone can be done either by slow wireless transfer to your mobile device, or by running a Micro-USB cable from the Bebop to a computer. The first was a preproduction unit that, like the original Bebop I reviewed, occasionally dropped its wireless signal in flight. Sizewise, the Bebop 2 Power remains small, but not as diminutive as the DJI Spark – and certainly not as small as the folding DJI Mavic Pro. If you opt to slide your smartphone into the Cockpitglasses—Parrot's name for its headset—you'll see what the drone sees. That’s the longest time you can expect in ideal conditions: colder temperatures and higher winds will reduce those times as with any drone. While the DJI Spark has a microSD slot for storage, the Bebop 2 Power instead opts for 8GB of integrated flash storage, of which about 7GB is actually usable.
