About this deal

Loved the little insights we got into each of the ghosts and I was giggling like an idiot in the staffroom while reading this at work. I’m the biggest fan of Ghosts and the show is my ultimate comfort watch and totally won’t embarrass myself by saying how many times I’ve watched it, but the book is the most perfect companion. Written by the show’s creators – Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond – this eclectic archive is a unique chance to discover more about the beloved ghosts of Button House.

The Bookseller reports that the material for the book has been written by creators Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond. I particularly liked the explanation of the ghost rules at the beginning and the 10 questions for each of the ghosts. From Thomas’ love letters, to Fanny’s tips on etiquette and Julian’s election speeches, this book contains all of the character insiders the show didn’t get a chance to show us! Funny, surprising, moving and absolutely worth both reading and listening to, as both formats are uniquely exploited. Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond are the creators of GHOSTS and all star in the series.

It's presented as a series of documents relating to the lives, and deaths, of Button House's spectral inhabitants. Ghosts began on the BBC in 2019, from the comedy group known as They Them, but better known as the team assembled for the first five series of Horrible Histories on CBBC, and who followed that by creating the William Shakespeare movie Bill, and the Sky TV fantasy series Yonderland, while individual members were responsible for everything from the Paddington movies to shows such as The Wrong Mans, Wonka, Here We Go, Sex Education and We Are Not Alone. Chapter books suitable for older children that are confident with their reading level, aged around 8-13 years old. A very big thank you to Bloomsbury and NetGalley for the chance to have this sneak peek into something that Ghosts fans are going to adore.

When Grace saves his life in a kayaking accident - if it was an accident - and Evan's troubled son arrives to stay, all three are drawn together in a way that forces a reckoning with their personal traumas and draws them back into society. About the Author: Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond are the creators of GHOSTS and all star in the series. It is the perfect Christmas gift and I’m looking forward to seeing the fans dressed up in their favourite ‘Ghosts’ costumes for the events.

Despite some of the handwriting being a little tricky to read, I adored this book - it’s so creative and original, and every page you could hear the characters talking. exercise routines, transcripts, newspaper articles, letters and more, from the lives of our favourite ghosts.Lots of little in-jokes and subtle references for fans, and looks like it will make a great companion piece.
