Der Schreibstil ist zwar gut zu lesen und das Buch habe ich fast in einem Rutsch beendet, dennoch werden damit die deutlichen Schwächen nicht überboten. We were very excited to get a Chinese takeaway in 2001 but were upstaged just a short while later when a gang of Brazilians moved to Knocknamanagh. It was like listening to someone trying to break a world record for speed and I honestly don't know how she had time to breathe.

Aisling goes out every Saturday night with her best friend Majella, who is a bit chaotic and disorganised - (she’s lost two phones already this year – Aisling has never lost a phone). Aisling ist mit John auf einer Hochzeit eingeladen und als Leser spürt man direkt: sie wünscht sich genau das. The best parts of Oh My God, What a Complete Aisling are probably also what limit its audience: its sharp, warm dissection of a particular kind of culture clash between rural and urban Ireland. The dating game is a minefield for any normal person, imagine what it's like for a complete Aisling!
