About this deal

While the modern version of LdT is not as a strong as I remember it is still an absolutely beautiful fragrance, very feminine and warm while being elegant. This is my If I was rich enough, eccentric enough, hot enough, I feel as if I could pull it off by wearing it in these modern times, but I am neither, so on the shelf it goes.

That said the other florals share equal time, an iris that's surprisingly robust and earthy, a lovely red rose and jasmine combination, a powdery hint of violet, all working together and adding little tweaks here and there. I really see little talcum flakes, light and delicate, dancing in the late amber light of an autumnal sun.Is it just because I know she was a teenager/young woman when this was released and I can just imagine her popping into Boots the chemist or Woolworths for a bottle? It just reminds me of gentle, comforting hugs any time I hurt myself as a child, the handkerchief from her sleeve when all those mean girls turned on me in high school, the warm oversized cardigan slung over my shoulders the first time I got my heart broken. Here, the cloves and spices also become really apparent to me, without really losing anything else in the composition. A complex, strong, beautiful scent from another era - just my type of perfume, definitely not suited to current tastes, but a classic nevertheless. The fragrance blends into the personality of each woman to bring out her sensual charm and refinement.

At first spritz: - Iconic, floral scent- The original fragrance by Nina Ricci - Beautiful dove-adorned bottleThe details:Celebrating femininity, freedom and sophistication, L’air Du Temps by Nina Ricci is a hall of fame-worthy fragrance for good reason. The fragrance is round, airy, sophisticated, fine, slightly green the note that I adore the most, because it's a feminist green a little spicy, a little sober and serious and to the final have something myrrh a strong note that came become to much in hot weather. Nina Ricci also produces a range of bathing soaps and moisturisers, including the L'Air du Temps collection. I actually initially wanted it because it is what Clarice is wearing in the movie "Silence of the Lambs", also I was fond enough of the bottle and I didn't know a whole lot about fragrance when I decided to pick it up.As this perfume has been on the market for decades and is a cult-like favourite of so many ladies and gentlemen around the world, I am sure that it was maybe my skin that didn't go well with it, or I simply don't have a fondness for the (combined) notes it has.

a perfume "stew" in which there is so damn much going on it all blends together with not a lot of distinction . The benzoin, vetiver, oakmoss, and amber under the numerous other scents in the top and middle notes are sublime. It doesn't end there, though; after a little while, the aldehydes seemed to gather, as if they were encouraging the wood and spice notes to make themselves noticed.I know that most people would consider "reminds me of grandmothers" as a negative, but this scent is SO comforting and evocative that I don't care if people think I smell like an old lady or if it's too mature for an early-twenties woman. Times are tough, and she means business, she has work to do around the house, and as they say, cleanliness is next to godliness. I layered today with another perfume I bought bc I got influenced but can't seem to wear (the Lataffa Kahmra) .

I like the fact that the bottle is clear, so you can see how much is left, but whilst the top is pretty, it is annoying if you want to put it in your bag. Iconic fragrance, but also one of the most clever use of aldehydes as supporting notes instead of loud main notes. I'm certainly old enough now to be sophisticated enough to wear l'air du Temps, and I think I'll give it a whirl! L’air Du Temps blends into the personality of each woman to bring out her sensual charm and refinement, like a poetical breath of fresh air it portrays a serene and assertive femininity.Created in Paris in 1948, and reflecting the optimistic era that followed the war, the scent’s fragrant bouquet is a feminine ode to joy. I love Farouche because it is heavier and more complex but L'air du Temps is the more appealing and lovable sister of it. It still smells dated to me and on me, but i can appreciate the beauty in the intermingling of floral notes and the musky, oakmoss base. If this perfume was a drink, it would be the driest possible prosecco you could think of, so dry that the spices and lilac stand out in a rather harsh way.
