About this deal

The image is filled with noise from the scale to 1080p, while segments are treated with AA for a few frames at a time.

I was a little dissapointed by the fact that it needs its own power supply, driven by USB plug (Included) to be plugged in. ANTI-ALIASING: On TV images shimmer or appear “jaggy” looking like stairs from squarepixels trying to create a curve. Sweeping landscapes and tall buildings packed with dense detail could caused lots of pixel crawl, even on CRTs of the day.You get three pieces in the box; the mClassic dongle itself, a USB cable to power it, and an HDMI extender. I recommend it but make sure you understand what you are getting out of it and whether your usage scenario makes sense. It also smudges out fine detail that may otherwise appear "jagged" owing to the adaptive resolution (and mileage will vary on a game-by-game basis). Second, with the mClassic plugged in, there were times when the Switch would display on my TV with a distinct purple tint.

On BoTW Link: Observe the handle of the weapon over his right shoulder as well his bracer on his right arm where the transition between the pixels on link and the background are smoother. As you'll see in the video, I used Power Stone on Dreamcast as a test case, sending a 480p signal via HDMI using a Toro VGA box connected to an OSSC - which simply passes that 640x480 resolution through to the mClassic over HDMI.

Retro Games Tested The mClassic given a full breakdown, compared to a regular HDMI signal - with Switch and retro consoles like Dreamcast in the limelight.

For retro games, you will want to make sure that you are setting your 3rd party HDMI converter to output 480p. Nonetheless, it's going to be whatever your TV natively supports that is 1440p or below that will be your maximum output.

ULTIMATE GAMING ACCESSORY: mClassic is the world’s first plug-and-play graphics cardthat boosts your game console’s graphicsin real-time to produce clean, sharp images. This is not a complete list, but it should give you an idea for how many devices the mClassic can work with. I'll stick to viewing the image as it is natively rendered by the hardware, with any post-processing filters on the TV turned off when placing in docked mode. From there it interprets each flat, 2D frame as it arrives from the console, adding contextual anti-aliasing, colour boosts, intelligent sharpening, and then upscaling the result. The reason the two images above have slightly different hues is partially due to my camera and partially caused by atmospheric effects going on in the game.Turning off the Switch, TV, and receiver then turning them back on resolved the issue, but that’s something I never had to do with the Switch connected directly to the receiver. I've tried everything possible on the 55" U8H and the 55" Series 6 (R655 | 2022) - they simply didn't allow it! Again, I didn't notice any difference because they already feature great anti-aliasing and high resolutions. They use their own chipset and algorithms to challenge the status-quo of visual enhancement for gaming and visual entertainment products.
