About this deal

The romance was well done, and evolved with a natural tempo organic to the character development and plot. p>Read about how we’ll protect and use your data in our Privacy Notice.

As with other Karen Rose books, there's lot of scary moments and intricate plot that keeps your attention. He also has a tumultuous family life to deal with, including three troubled sons, and a matchmaking aunt. And as the two try to find the courage to bare their souls, a murderer looks for the real treasure he craves. The mystery suspense of this plot centers on a serial killer who murdered four girls and got off on a technicality.Though his wife's desertion has soured Stephen on romance, circumstances throw him and Jenna together time and again. I didn't like Neil much, although he isn't a bad guy, he was just not my cup of tea, and I was constantly rolling my eyes every time he pined for the girl he couldn't have.

He started killing again when he stopped taking the medication his mother had forced on him after suspecting him of the crimes his brother was accused for a few years back before the family moved away after he was acquitted. Steven Thatcher, Special Agent for the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, is investigating the disappearance of a local high school cheerleader when she is found dead. Not only is she smart, strong and brave but she has care and compassion for others, often helping at a hospice , volunteering or forming close bonds with her students. Perhaps it was because their relationship developed rather quickly over the course of only a few weeks, which isn't really my favorite way for a couple to fall in love. Six months ago his youngest son Nicky was kidnapped from his bed by a madman intent on punishing Steven.

I think that in this one missed the feeling of danger, tension that we can feel in her later books as well as in the fist book of this series ''Don't tell''. Karen Rose is superb at what she does, she knows how to grip readers from the first page and there’s plenty of twists and turns. Stephen and Jenna are both wounded souls who very much need each other, but they're also both rather stubborn and after being deeply hurt in the past, don't want to feel needy. While this book was well written and for the most part read smoothly, there were a few places that it dragged a bit or had typos that pulled me temporarily from the story. I would suggest reading Don't Tell prior to this book so that you will have a better understanding and appreciation for the hero. It's not difficult to read, the plot was excellently mapped out, and I found myself wanting to read a bit more each time I went to put it down of an evening. Not only is there a serial killer of teenage girls on the loose, but Steven's own teenage son Brad is suddenly acting up and failing at school.
